That’s such a stupid hit attempt, gotta do a flyby there if you’re TJ. High risk low reward.

Would have been legal if head was avoided, it wasn’t, and the onus on that situation is for hitter to avoid head contact 1000%.

A suspension will indeed be incoming. That's a dirty hit.
Stunned none of the Canucks even got in his face about it. Didn't want that smoke I guess.

Pisses me off too. Ever since Eye Bags neutered the team in the fall of 2010, they haven't been a tough group.,Sure they had Bieksa, Glass, Kassian and Sestito but they ran all those guys out of town. Then Elmer the Drunk came to town and he was a butter soft player and iced a shitty and butter soft team. I guess they had Dorse and Prust to wrestle the odd guy for a bit. Still too soft for my liking.

Throwing hits like this can cause life long concussion issues. Just because the league doesn't seem to give a shit about that doesn't mean that calling for a suspension that long isn't warranted.
cool

doesn't make it reasonable in comparison to mine

probably shouldn't be admiring your pass going east-west across the neutral zone but i think 5 and a game is probably the right call

it's a little late, a little high, a little not enough chest contact.. adds up to that
You’re missing “A little not missing the head”.

On the high ice view it looked like nobody on the ice even saw it because it was so far away from the puck.

cause calling for 10-15 games is so much more reasonable of a take

I mean, it's basically the exact hit that got Raffi Torres a 41-game suspension, except this is later and further from the puck.

It's the most blatant cheapshot thrown in the NHL so far this year and you can pretty much guarantee it will be an in-person hearing.

And again, its a no-talent plug on a star which generally escalates suspensions by a considerable factor.

Not sure what they’ll do with that. It’s obviously late and high. I just don’t see any excuse that would help his case.
DOPS though. 🫣

ah yes, 2 identical players with identical histories

take a look at the replay tomorrow and reevaluate

It *should* be 10-15 games.

I'm guessing it will be 6-8.

It was a despicable, predatory hit on a defenseless player a mile away from the puck. It's the dirtiest play to happen in the NHL so far this season. Your comments about the hit seem to indicate that you've been in a coma for the past 12 years and have zero concept of the current rules.

That's about as dirty of a blindside late cheapshot as you'll ever see, and it's by a no-talent thug against a 40-goal scorer.

That should be a 10-15 game suspension.

What an absolute piece of garbage.
While a bit dirty I think almost everyone on HF Boards will have seen many dirtier blindside late cheapshots than that one.
