Bedard wouldn't solve our problems. Take a look at how many first round picks Edmonton has had in the last decade. We won the cup with a group that played defense (whether they were a forward or defenseman) and made the opposing team work for everything they got. We didn't do it by "getting fast" or "adding gamebreakers." Most of the teams sent home in the playoffs that year were comprised of guys taken much higher in the draft than what we had on our roster. When things go south everyone wants to blame the GM, but he's kept us competitive for much longer than most teams in the league. We're in for a downturn, but I think we're right back in the playoffs in a couple of years with a decent re-tool.
