I love the implicit madness, honestly.

I hope tanev has alot left in the tank because his body has played alot of pinball.why have the Jets being a draft and build franchise have zero character guys in the bottom 6 and still have to trade for them, and the 2nd line center thing is troubling.but more people than not have confidence that this team can make waves,me not so much.

Paying a 2nd for a guy with 17 points in 60 games isn't great value. However he is a nightmare to play against. Will fit well with Lowry. I went to look at his hockeydb and suffered a jump scare when greeted with his "photo".

I get the trade for Schenn, but I don't understand this move at all. Tanev produces at a 4th line level. Does he kill penalties? At this point how effective is he at even strength? Decent defensively?

Seems like a waste of cap space, albeit for only this year. And it looks like a making a move for the sake of making a move by Chevy that doesn't really improve the Jets cup chances, especially when compared to the actual impact moves made by Colorado and Dallas.

Love me some MadBrand Tanev.

Price was high. Nino N high, for a significantly less able player.

But if he can still bring that speed and disruption on the forecheck and pot a few of his chaotic specials — and help get us into the 2nd round — then could be a fun ride.

I don't mind this and I'm sure the room will be happy to have him back. I'd guess he takes Barron's spot unless he moves to center the fourth line.

I like Tanev but I think the price was too high. Not sure now he really improves the team significantly, to give up a 2nd. Oh well.
It is a 2027 2nd, so best case scenario that pick becomes a player around 2031 or 2032. By then all of Scheifele, Helly, Ehlers, Connor and Morrissey etc will be retired, moved on or in the fading twilight of their careers. There will be a lot of selling by that point to make that pick pretty much irrelevant in the long term.

i still don't see where Tanev fits or what he gives us... so the cost is quite large.

if he pushes Barron out of the lineup IMHO that's us getting worse. so again we spent capital for zero return.

if he rides the pine in the press box waiting for injury ... we probably could have gotten equal value off the waivers or even an AJF callup from the moose.

I guess we will have to wait and see, but I think he easily pushes a few bottom 6 players down the lineup. If I had to guess he replaces Apples on the 3rd.

175 pointas in 533 games.. 33 years old.. with a history of injury issues.......played one full season out of the last five...if he's higher on the roster than the PB / we're in deep trouble,
He gets injured because he puts his body on the line every shift.

The above is a highlights package I found while searching for a video of what I thought was Tanev blocking multiple shots on the same shift (turned out it was Tangradi)
