I mean he's 26 this summer. He's from the same draft as Matthews, there's really no more time left to develop him. He either is or isn't at this point.

Well he missed a lot of time in his younger years but has good tools. Plenty of goalies become better in their late 20s. Just don’t expect someone with such a flat development curve to turn into Jake Oettinger over night.

Didn’t Hasek not play in the NHL until almost 30? He was good enough to play before then for sure but I think there are a fair amount of goalies who didn’t make their mark in the NHL until their late twenties
