Hyman literally invented a new style of playing, he could keep the puck in the ozone with no possession of it himself, better than anyone I have ever seen.

Bunting was a good to very good signing but god bless him he nor anyone in the NHL, keep the puck in the opposing end without actually possessing it most of the time...

There is a reason the Oilers are suddenly relevant and why they supposedly way overpaid for Hyman....

Is it the goalie or is it his 5XL equipment ?

Its the goalie. His combination of size, athleticism, flexibility, edgework and overall technique is incredibly rare and is probably the most talented goalie to ever play the game. Also has incredible hockey IQ. Dude is a freak of nature.

His equipment can be no bigger than anyone else's. They are all regulated. Pads have a maximum size relative to the players leg measurements. Glove has a maximum circumference and length. Pants and chest protector have to be contoured and slim fit to the body. No more oversized, square shoulder floaters or widened elbows. Goalies do have little tricks to make their equipment appear/play bigger though. He has a low crouch style that probably makes his equipment appear bigger as well.

oh go f*** yourself. I think it’s ridiculous that people are taking aim specifically at Matthews tonight when marner and Tavares are getting dominated. I never at any point said Matthews had been good, he hasn’t, but these people claiming he needs to be tossed down the lineup because he’s dragging down marner and nylander are way off the mark and I’m going to disagree with them. If you don’t like that, I don’t care.
