I know a lot of fans of other teams will have fun bashing the Leafs again, but Toronto fans should be proud of their team. Each year they've been getting better and will continue to be a contender for years. They were on the wrong side of this one but could have easily gone the other way.

Right when the refs saved the Bolts asses.
It's kind of sad to blame a series loss on one single penalty. Then again, that's exactly what happens with 1993 as well, so I guess no surprise.

The players will certainly not be blaming the refs for their failure. They might lack accountability, but even they aren't quite at that level.

Okay BMOK! You have been a lightning hater for years

I am talking about now...if you asked me this question last year then no but Tampa is nowhere near the team anymore they were in 19/20. Their 3rd and 4th lines are terrible

Vasi and nick Paul ftw. You don't want to play vasi in game 7. No no. Also was a strong 3rd by the back2back cup team. Didn't give Toronto a ton there. Leafs can't get out of round 1 again! They shouldn't panic imo they still have a really strong young team.

It's not quite to the point where it's no longer funny and it's just sad, but we're getting there.
No, I think we've actually hit that point.

I'm dead inside even though the Leafs lost.

There is no passion, there is no feeling it gives me anymore.

It's like watching Charlie Brown try to kick the football. it just never happens.

List of active Leaf streaks

- Longest Stanley Cup drought in history (55 years; 0-0 in cup finals)

- Longest active drought of not winning a playoff series (18 years; 0-7 in playoffs)

- 10 straight games lost where they had a chance to win a series

- 6 consecutive first round exits since 2017 (anyone know the record? or even the cap era record?)

Sad but true.

I think these are the two best teams in the East. I like Toronto jokes as much as the next guy, but they have nothing to be ashamed of here. TB barely pulled this off. By far, FAR, our toughest series of the cup runs.
That's the Leafs for ya

We're always close but not the ones to get the job done. Same exact situation as in 2019 versus Boston
