A few observations... I thought Khudobin looked pretty solid, perhaps a bit rusty at times. I certainly wouldn't hesitate putting him back out there though. While i don't necessarily have the disdain that some do for Bourque, I am growing increasingly tired of watching him get man handled in puck battles, & i've seen no evidence of him adding any value to the power play, so i was relieved to see him off of it today. Dougie is the real deal, this kid has all the makings of a stud, only scratching the surface of what's to come with him. Not sure what is going on with Ference (nagging injury perhaps?) but he has not been himself thus far this year. Fortunately, none of these things has made a difference to the team in terms of the standings. Have to be pretty happy with a team that starts off 14-2-2 & IMO hasn't played it's best hockey yet.

Read on twitter julien wanted 3 balanced lines. Hence why paille was moved up, thornton scratched.

They should keep paille there unless they get a top 9 player, and the merlot should be macdermid, campbell, and thornton.

Hamilton had a great keep on the PP that led to a goal, he got an assist, he made that great pass up the ice to Bergeron and he was pretty physical defensively. Wow he is turning into a difference maker right before our eyes.

next to the bench
Just in from the game.

Nice Comeback.

Looch hurt his jaw. He got cut but he was having the trainers look at his jaw and even at the end of the game it was bothering him.

He kept yelling at the Tampa bench ( didn't know who he was shouting at) " You better watch yourself".

Poo got hurt.

The refs flat out sucked today.

I didn't like Shawn being scratched.

I did like Paille on the third line.

So how many "boarding " calls were there? What a joke.

Agree with everything you said but this. I thought I saw him set up at least 3 great scoring chances and just missing a couple himself. Close but no rabbit (no Cigar? no Chicken? can't remember the saying)... But awful? I don't think so.
Seems to me like shots off the glass is more common than usual.
My question is why is everybody trying to pick corners!?

You got the saying right, it's "No Chicken".

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Truthfully, it is no cigar, means almost, very close.

Hey, I got the meaning right the first time just switched the smokes for something you'd hunt! An honest mistake since the saying in swedish is "Close but no hare".
Just ignore whatever point I tried to make with the post otherwise!

Im makin the GDT for tomorrow. Did julien make any comments about thornton tomorrows game?

I know that he said he brought in pandolfo for the pk, but the habs pk is about 3-4 spots lower.

I don't think he said anything, but after Pandolfo's & Bourque's showing today, I wouldn't be surprised If they're both out.

Paille bumped up and played most of the game with Kelly and Peverley, and I bet that line stays together tomorrow.

I don't think Claude would scratch Thornton in a home game against Montreal. At all. I firmly believe he'll be in. He should be in, that's for sure.

YT comments on the 2 fights are hilarious

Apparently Horton is afraid of Aulie

I was relieved to see Bourque's playing time cut and thrown onto the 4th line. Would rather have Macdermid or Thornton today.

Dobby looked ok not as good as other times this year.

Good to see Seguin bustin his *** and being rewarded

Loved PP Hamilton --> Seguin

Chara looks blah this year

The blatant bias against Lucic is just ridiculous

The Pandolfo hit was a genuine bording call but by that time the calls were already a joke. The refs have been targeting Lucic after the clean hit on Nash (similar to the hit on Hedman they called for bording today) and on his calling them out about not apologizing to him for tossing him last year because they thought he came off the bench to fight. Doesn't pay to criticize refs in media. The way it's been going, I honestly thought they were calling him for goaltender interference when he was chopped in the mouth.

This game and the line changes do make you wonder how long we have to sit through games watching Bourque and Paille on the 3rd line before they either bring up Spooner or make a trade.

Same thing with Ference's play this year. Would rather have Krug back there. You would think, in his contract year, he would be playing a lot better than he has. At least McQuaid is fighting people. Ference isn't even doing that anymore.

- Dobby looked shaky to me but made some saves when it was required. I don't trust him though. He's going to be playing quite a bit for the balance of the season though, I'd like to see him sharpen up a bit.

Not a shock considering the dude has not played in 2 weeks. Thought that CJ should have put him in once during that span just for this reason.

I liked the bit of "nasty" to the Bruins' game today. Players standing up for themselves and each other early and often.

I have not seen such a poorly officiated game in person in a long time, it was terrible. Bad both ways but generally seemed to go against the Bruins. At least the last missed call on the hit against Marchand is the reason he scored the GWG (stayed behind the play to ***** at the ref!)

Good come back today, nice goals.

OMG how dare you question the goalie?! Stop being pissy! :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

You seriously think he's played badly?

Remember that glove save Khudobin made from the right circle today?

That particular shot goes right by Tuukka's left ear w/o so much as an eye blink. That I know. And so do the majority of guys that shoot on him in the NHL.

I'd like to think veterans like Ference and Kelly will be able to find their game again if given enough time. Not sure what the reasons are for their worse play this season but there's a good chance they will get back to form based on their past performance.
