This is a much bigger game for TB, the back to back cap circumventers who want to prove they are dominant still.

As long as the Leafs are so far ahead of them, this game mens little to the Leafs. Just don't get beaten in the alleys, let the score be what it is.

In many ways this is a better outcome. Leafs will be reminded of what is needed.

A fully healthy Leafs lineup is far different than this lineup and a 3rd stringer in net.

They know what it takes… they don’t need a reminder but I think the galaxy braining takes them out of their rhythm. Who knows what’s wrong with Matthews though.

NHL has been taking notes from the NBA in the years past and load management is one of those things, If your superstar needs rest, you disguise it as an "undisclosed, very minor" injury.

If this was an important game he would be out there. Hes fine

If he was fine he'd be playing.

They classified it as a new injury the other night - if this was load management, they'd have sugar coated it as something undisclosed etc.
