I've been wanting them to take a flier on him. A one year show-me contract. He's a Cy Young caliber guy when healthy.

1 year show-me contracts have worked recently, Wacha. Hopefully if that is the case, they actually hold onto him and not let him walk. Woulda been nice to have Wacha these past few years.

Wacha did work out. Kluber didn't, but it was easy to DFA him once they finally admitted it was a lost cause.
And I firmly believe Bieber is a much safer bet to bounce back to form after surgery than the 39 year old Kluber ever was.

In a new letter to the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners, the Tampa Bay Rays said a new ballpark can't be delivered for the start of the 2028 season and they have suspended work.

I can't imagine that there isn't another city that would want a team.

There are a half dozen MLB expansion candidates, but none of them have an MLB-ready stadium for a team to move into.
Then again, the Rays are set to play this season at a Spring Training field, and the A's are playing at a minor league park in Sacramento.
