What opportunity?

Scott Boras is involved

There are a couple of owners without budgets - actually maybe one: Steve Cohen

This is coming down to Mets & Yankees

I’d skip on Soto & sign Burnes

I would rather have a top of the rotation top pitcher then Soto with where they are at

If you look at the specific teams he's meeting with, the signs clearly point to putting pressure on the Yankees to pay up. Red Sox and Blue Jays are there as AL East rivals willing to spend big money, and Mets as the crosstown rival. If you wanted to lean into the emotions of the Steinbrenners, those are the exact teams I'd pick. Yankees fans would throw a fit if Soto went to any of those teams.

Yup - Boras hopefully promised the Red Sox something to play this game

I am going with Cohen getting him

Not sure why the link isn't working, but it said the Mets offered Soto $660 million.

I like Soto but if there is a way to get Fried, Snell, and Hernandez for ~$75MM per year I would prefer that option. The rotation holes will be filled and you get a right handed power bat for Fenway.

Hell baby
giving Teoscar Hernandez more money and more years than you offered last year for his age 32 season just because he had a year of dodgers magic pixie dust is the exact kind of move I’ve come to expect from this organization the past few years
