After reading the Series Talk thread in the main forum, I’ve come to the conclusion that there is a fan base more obnoxious than that or the Habs: that of the Tampa Bay lightning. You want to talk about arrogant and insufferable.

Dudes act like they were on the ice and scored the OT5 GWG each of the last two years. Give it a rest. 🤢
Lightning fans are arrogant and smug for sure, especially after the salary cap fiasco from last year and claiming their GM was some genius for abusing a loophole. That said, the Rangers can control how to shut their fans up and end their little reign as Cup champs. Let's do it where it matters, show up and make Game 4 a must win game. Play with the same desperation as an elimination game. If the Rangers played that way yesterday, they'd be up 3-0 in the series and an insurmountable series lead. That being said, just shut down Stamkos and Kucherov. Best way to do that is to make them defend when they are on the ice, play in their zone. If you do that then all Kucherov can do is cross check and trip players since he's a dirty little bitch on the ice. Win Game 4 and this series is over.

There are keyboard warriors here who think Strome is a net negative and that the team would be better off in G4 with Hunt, Rooney, or Brodzinski in the lineup over Strome.
That baffles the mind. Do i dislike strome and think we're not getting alot of production out of the 2nd line right now? Absolutely. Do i think any of those guys is anything more than a 4th liner, whereas strome sits easily between a 2nd and 3rd liner (depending on team depth).
But then again we have someone who thinks kratsov is the 2nd coming... so not really too surprised.

Yeah I think people have let their distaste for re-signing him and his very real flaws as a player cloud their judgement with him. He is indeed very flawed and I don't want him back, but there is zero debate that removing him from the lineup at this point in time would be a massive blow to the team.

Just for the ability to roll our lines alone, even if he's not really doing much of anything, is a huge loss. There's no surprise that we started to look out of sorts yesterday after he got hurt and Gallant had to shuffle lines every shift.

Strome is also a huge part of the PP, even if we all want Laf or Kakko in that spot the team has been playing with the same 5 guys all season and there is no debate that the current PP1 is by far the most effective unit we have. Perhaps next season they can adjust their strategy to having someone else in Strome's spot but currently there's no question that swapping someone in is going to disrupt their flow and comfortability with each other.

I want to come clean on something. I've been rooting for us in these playoffs with an upper-body injury. I got into some family drama and punched a wall out of anger. I never got it diagnosed but I think I might have suffered some micro fractures to the right hand and wrist. I went on the interwebs and think it was boxer's hand/wrist. This usually takes 2-10 weeks to heal. I just passed 11 weeks yesterday, and I think it's finally healed. Feeling maybe 97% right now. I think I'm good to take the non-contact jersey off and step into game 4 if needed.

I can understand why someone might disagree with that idea. But to outright dismiss it and insult those that think there’s something there? Kinda weird given his ineffective and I engaged Strome has been physically.

Now with an injury? Yeah. Gimme Hunt or Brodzinski all day vs. this heavy TBL club.

I'm not a Strome fan and wouldn't want him back next year, but it's pretty clear right now that we have 9 scoring forwards. Replacing Strome with a plug isn't going to make us better this year.

They could have won, but there was no way they should have won. They were badly outplayed.
Really do not see it that way. Certainly not as bad as you are making it out to be. The 3rd period was bad. The other two periods they had their chances too. Some misplays involved. And just because TB had a ton of shots, does not mean they were all of quality

I agree. Every game has a different dynamic to it. You can't expect the Rangers to perform like it's game 7 with Car or game 1 of this series every night. The Rangers were better at even strength in game 2 when special teams went 0/4 and they held on to win.

Yesterday, the PP could have won the game for them. At the very least, they SHOULD have gotten a goal with a 4 min advantage. Yesterday was a missed opportunity.

I didn't like the calls that went against the NYR when we went up 2-0. If Tampa feels the need to interfere with our goaltender, then they should deal with the consequences. They tried to rattle Shesterkin and it backfired on them. Cry Baby Cooper was jumping up and down and his team started bitching to the refs... the refs called some really marginal penalties on the rangers, as soon as they went up 2-0.

I'm not calling it a "Fix" but it's definitely not the level of officiating you'd expect at this point in the season of games of this caliber. This need the officials have to "even out" the calls is blatantly obvious.

All Car did was interfere and run pick plays against the NYR... I don't think I saw ONE interference call against them in that series. Same with the Pens early on in round 1.

Gallant tends to control his emotions when it comes to post game pressers, especially when it comes to officiating. He rarely, if ever, gets too high or too low about things. I think that way he approaches things, he gets his point across. I think what he had to say about the officiating yesterday was heard and I think it will make a difference moving forward, specifically with things happening around Igor.

Kreider and the group know it was a missed opportunity and I think they respond well.

Maybe that loss will cool off the talk of how we match up against the lanche...

I get being proud etc. but watching this team for 40 yrs has a way of making me cringe when I read those posts.

This isn't easy... it hasn't been easy and won't be easy.

I think whoever wins tom night wins the series honestly.
Appreciate your levelheaded approach.

Going into the playoffs this year, I had a very nonchalant attitude.... Happy we made it in, youth gets experience, etc. etc.

Didn't take long before I remember how much I hated that Penguins team and I wanted nothing more than JUST TO BEAT CROSBY one more time.

Made it to round 2... Happy just to win a round... playing with house money, etc. All it took was the constant ESPN grandstanding for the Canes, hearing the name "Jarvis" mentioned constantly and seeing Aho's and Jordan Staal annoying face... I wanted blood! JUST BEAT THESE CANES... i'll be satisfied.

Nothing... Nothing compares to how much hatred i have for this Tampa Bay team right now. I want them demoralized in the worst way. I can't stand Cooper, Stammer... Kuch... ugh and that phoney McD...
that punk Cirelli... I want Palat out on a stretcher....
