Part of me thinks Trocheck is actually a better fit on that line than Chytil is. Either way, it’s looking like Lafreniere and Panarin should be joined at the hip for the next few years.

That’s our actual first line. Panarin is back to his 19-20 self. He’s attacking, he’s shooting, he’s aggressive on the forecheck. He’s everything he was lacking last season. Great to have this guy back.

It's been only 2 games but the current 4th line trio has been... Pretty good? Not ready to declare them the answer but they've been WAY better than the Goodrow-Bonino-Vesey/Pitlick combo.

Neither of them have been good enough 5v5. I'll give them credit for AT LEAST covering their asses on D but they both need to be better. I don't know what the f*** got into CK tonight as I thought he had strung together a few solid performances at ES but what ever it was, I didn't like it at all. The floaty non committal BS needs to stop for both of them. It's been there from Zibanejad all season and more often than not for CK.

There isn't some magic RW who can come in and fix everything, they need to get their shit together.

They created a shit load of offense in the time they got together last year. The raw production wasn't what it should have been, but the chances were there.

They got roasted defensively so there is that, but it was one of the most effective combos that they had at actually generating offensive chances. It was a combo that should have gotten a longer look than it did but it didn't bc Gallant.

Yep, I agree. People over inflate the importance on line numbers and would probably complain about Chytil now being moved to the “third line” as some sort of demotion but I think those lines might actually be the best way to roll out the middle 6.

Well valid criticism of his 5v5 scoring is not exactly trashing. He’s simply not scoring at 5v5 and the team needs him to start. I’m sure he will, but for now his 5v5 scoring is disappointing. And I’m sure he is disappointed in it too. If/when people start saying he sucks and suggesting we trade him for whatever we can get, then, yeah, the trashing will be pitiful.
