Talentless Goon Tom Wilson is a 30-goal Scorer

i mean you can google a million results for "tom wilson goon" but sure, "nobody".

Anyone who has at least two digits IQ points and a minimum knowledge of ice hockey will recognise that Wilson is a solid 40+ pointers per year hockey player, with solid intengibles

How many times were there offers for him in the Trade section?
A whole bunch

That ain't a goon lol
In Montréal we have Xhekaj who is way more of what a real goon is than what Tom Wilson is.
What Tom Wilson is, is a giant POS, and this is why Josh Anderson smacked that bitchass up this year

Yea, I don't think I've ever heard someone call him talentless.

People definitely did prior to the cup.

He had a career high of 23 points prior to the '17-18 season. He was an agitator and he was injuring opposing players with a degree of regularity that no league could allow to continue. It's easy to see why he is hated.

There have been times in his career where he seemed to be focused on agitating, but his best hockey seems to be at the times when he isn't focusing too much on that stuff. He played some of his best hockey after his longest suspension. He's also playing his best hockey this season. He's solid defensively this season (he's had ups and downs defensively over his career IMO but generally been pretty good).

He was never talentless. He’s made some foolish and dangerous plays, but I suppose it comes with the territory of playing on that line. But, he was never going to be known as a one dimensional, 4th line fighter only.

He and all of the Caps are having a year. There's always a PDO darling that comes out of no where and surprises. Last year it was the Canucks, the year before was the Devils, this year it's Washington.

I had my doubts he would get back after the injury as he struggled last season, but this year he has come back with his best season so far.

He isnt laying big hits or looking for them as much as he did in his younger years. You dont see Wilson mentioned often on the mainboard anymore while there was a period you would see threads of hits people tought where questionable weekly. Which is good for the Capitals as they are a way better team with him on the ice so they dont need him to lay hits that gives penalties and suspensions.

He will get to 60+ and might hit 70P this year (Actually on pace for 69,76 rounded up to 70). One guy mentioned he was a 40 point player.

18/19 - 52 point pace (Lost 14 games to suspension)
19/20 - 53 point pace (Covid shortened)
20/21 - 58 point pace (Covid shortened)
21/22 - 55 point pace (Hit 52 points)
22/23 - 55 point pace (Injured)
23/24 - 39 point pace (After injury and his underlying metrics where bad so Caps fans where worried we wouldnt get Wilson back)
24/25 - 70 point pace (57 so far)

I would say Wilson is clearly a 50+ point player and he has been so for quite a long time. If you sort on RWs since the 18/19 season Wilson is 25th in points and 30th in Points per game (Over 100 games). So he is a first line winger in the NHL production wise and his overall defensive game probably jumps him up some spots to a top 15-20th among RW in the NHL.

This is a season that should always have an asterisk when pointing out the bad seasons of single players, since it was absolutely a team effort.

Caps playing two guys in significant roles when they could barely skate, one being Wilson. Another major piece absolutely sandbagging it and not wanting to be here. The emotional toll of the Backstrom situation. Zero team-stability. No one could shoot. Could probably cut the locker room tension with a knife.

A player any contending team would love to add to their roster. You'd love him in your teams jersey. Got to respect the guy for being a bit of a throw back in thie day and age.
