I was talking with a friend about this yesterday... Talbot's breaking in is almost exactly like Lundqvist's in late '05, promising young G--but no more than hearsay... impresses early on, gets more starts, replaces the main guy (Weekes)... to me, this says Lundqvist can't have anymore games like last night--turnovers or not... when Talbot is, what, 4-1, hasn't allowed more than two in a game, and on 120:00 shutout streak... even with the '95 NJ defense, that's a GOOD goalie, and if he improves--a natural occurrence--he will replace Henrik, who I love, but is NOT the best goalie in the NHL...
On a roll, he's close to it, but he'll stand on his head and work up a .9 GAA in a 4-game span, then let a few of the softest goals when it matters most...
