Hello,

Welcome, relax, sit back and take a break from the stress outside. When I last checked, 10 out of the first 11 threads on the main page were all singing the blues: last chance, criticism, game 7 is irrelevant, choke artists, you get the idea.

Not here. I happen to think the Leafs will win game 7, and when they do it will change things. I'm not blind, the last two games have been embarrassing. And, were so used to seeing them lose. I'm worried about Muzz and what happens if he's out in game 7. But, I think they're going to win. They had a great season. Matthews can be lethal, we know that. Marner can dazzle and hasn't. Nylander is playing so well, as are Rielly, Brodie, Jack, and Spezza's a treat. We have more talent and, I think, some veterans who are now going to take control. I think it's already started. Nick Foligno staring into the camera and saying 'it's not acceptable' was the moment. No offense to Tavares, Rielly, Spezza and others, it was the right, blunt assessment this team needed to hear. I think he starts with Matthews and Marner and leads them to playing better. Things pick up speed from there.

So if you've got a reason why you think the Leafs are going to win, take down Winnipeg, and who knows from there, cross your fingers, share your thoughts, it's going to be a bumpy 34 hours till game time.

Go Leafs Go!

Friend, I was watching them win Cups in the 60s. I'm not saying they'll win it this year, but I think they'll topple the Habs and Jets.
I admire your positivity but can't bring myself to feel the same!
I'd be shocked if they win on Monday.

I think the core aside from Morgan and Nylander really have a lot to prove. I am not too sure if they will win against the Jets but if they put pressure on early in the first and break through they should be ok.

I still cannot believe that they put themselves in this spot.

Just trying to leave the past in the past. I think we're a better team. We've played shit hockey the last two game, I think we'll be better in game 7.

Cheers.

I admire your positivity, not sure why we would expect a team who no showed for the past 2 elimination games would show up with a different effort on Monday. All of that coming on the heels of what happened last year and all the lack of accountability in their statements after the Columbus loss.

Thx for not swinging away at this stupidly mad Leaf fan  History was my major and I've apparently learned nothing from my studies. As Ben Crenshaw said before the final day at the Ryder Cup back in 99,

Anyway, I'm trying to follow Monty Python's sage advice.

Final 4 or Bust has been what I have been saying all along as well. :)

Losing to either Montreal or Winnipeg wasn't really even a serious concern prior to the playoffs beginning.

In fact as a self proclaimed "realist" I couldn't really even imagine losing in rounds #1 nor 2 based on the level of competition of the opposition. Expected the Leafs to cruise through the 1st X 2 rounds with an 8 win and 2 loss record, and perhaps each series going 4-1 at worst case scenario.

I admire all those who will tune in tomorrow.

I've asked very little of the team in my 40 years of watching them. More than following ...undying loyalty and passion. I've earned the right to ask that they show me they are different. Win game 7 and my 1 game protest will be over. Sure it's not much but it's what I can do.

If they complete the collapse tomorrow I will delete the game from my PVR, unwatched. I don't need to witness that story again - did it too many times.

No outcome in sports is ever certain so the people who have given up are wrong, period.

The Leafs are likely to win. The bookies have them as roughly 2-1 favourites. Are they always right? No of course not but they're almost always pretty close and those are the odds, the Leafs are heavy favourites and therefore more likely than not to win this thing. Unlike most of the people posting here who are (understandably) emotional, the bookies look at things from a completely detached and objective POV and they back their work with real money and lots of it. If you're sure they'll lose, go ahead and take the free money, bet on MTL and get paid off almost 2-1.

Doesn't mean they'll win, but they are the favourites. GLG!!

Yup. We were huge favourites against MTL, losing to them seemed like a very remote possibility.

As much as I want to join you in your protest, I am going to watch and only turn it off if things look bad. In no way will I watch them shake hands if they lose.

30 of 31 teams lose every season and somehow this fan base thinks they’re alone in losing. Good times.

You honestly believe that? How many of those teams have 40mil tied up in 4 players that have yet to show anything in the post season? Please don’t draw false equivalency.

Apologies, I forgot this was a “positivity” thread.

Positive thoughts:
They will win tomorrow, breaking the curse.
The relief of getting past the first round, and the blank slate of a new series, will allow them to easily beat the Jets.

Okay, that's as far positive as I'll go.
