So early. He’s a pretty incredible talent. He’s got 29 shots in 6 games. If he shoots close to his 15% the last two years that at least 3-4 goals in 6 games and nobody is complaining. And his shot is lethal from everywhere so that’s not a tall order. Small sample size here.

The consistency and all-around game still is a work in progress. I said that after last year even after 47 goals he still had some measure of improvement to get to the top level of centers in the league.

He’s a weapon and he’s a unicorn physically but he’s not yet the all-around driver that the top centers in the league are if you are measuring performance by more than goals and assists.

He will probably score a bushel of goals in the next few games.

I've watched 3 of his games this season. He doesn't stand out as much as other young superstars like Hughes, Mckinnion, Matthews, Stuzle etc. But his shot is lethal and it's just a matter of time before he racks up a few multi points games in a row.

Thompson, at least last year, was incredibly streaky. 12 goals, 20 pts in 4 games last year against bad teams.

Thats 20% of his scoring in 5% of games.

If you include 3 pts nights, he had 41 pts in 11 games.

He also had about 24 games without a single point.

Wouldnt surprise me if he exploded sooner than later

Love Tuch, great player, hated to see him traded. Having said all that, and like so many other players, Tuch tends toward long streaks, productive and unproductive.

Tage will heat up. He's not the only star off to a chilly start.
