His response was more in relation to average ice-time. He only averaged 11:55 with not much pp time. He will be given the opportunity to compete for a top 6 spot, but its not given to him.

I like that his father is a coach. He mentioned he needs to get stronger and faster. Those things can be developed. He seems like a great kid.

He loved Thompson leading up to the draft. Those feelings will get rekindled after he wires a few PP goals.

Hate the trade would have preferred any of the other 3 prospects especially kostin as I didn't expect to get thomas. However this kid is intriguing especially riding sidekick with jack and maybe sam parked in front with them firing shots on net...

I'm 600% sure Botterill will backpedal this the next time the media speaks to him. He'll emphasize opportunity, and speak generically rather than guarantee.

They might have told him long term they see him in there top 6 but I highly doubt they are handing a 20 year old a top 6 spot next October unless he has a tremendous training camp.

I'm hoping this is sarcasm. Let's not run away with a potentially misconstrued message from a 20 year old prospect we barely know.

I'm still upset about this trade too, but I'm also still a Sabres fan, and still want them to win. What's next for the team (and this board) is to figure out how that's done.
