Lol I’m eating crow on this. He has been straight up good for a bit now.

Perhaps their goofy ass development plan for him wasn’t so goofy after all

I’m really impressed by the turnaround. What a development. If this is the real Tage I’m really happy, love his style.

Glad I don’t have to eat crow. I wasn’t pleased with his play but the kid is a kid and I saw something during the pre-season that I held on to.

I’m seeing that play again.

The kid has all the tools to be a special player. Incredible size and reach which he uses to protect the puck, dangle and strip opponents of pucks, very good skater, good hockey sense and an absolute cannon of a shot. If he puts on a little more muscle and continues to gain confidence the Sabres could have an absolute beast of a winger.

How do you think he scored tonight? He was out on the power play. Granted it was after a 4-on-4 so it wasn't a regular power play unit, but the PP clearly sought to feed Thompson's shot. I think this could continue in the future.

I still think they don't want to put TT in over his head yet. I expect he will see more situational use, not so much top line, but putting him on the PP would be a nice promotion for what he's been bringing lately.

It’s about time they used him on his off wing. When he was acquired I watched as much video of him as I could find. When he was at UConn, goal after goal after goal is a one timer from the left wing.

If he is more effective in the rest of his game at C or RW fine, but if you want him to score that is where he should be. It’s the same place Eichel should play on PP1 and Thompson should be there on PP2.

I think the preseason had everyone in "he's not a bust, just not ready" mode. I'm glad that he's starting to show those flashes again in the real games. You knew it would happen eventually, I'm just shocked the switch was flipped so quickly.

I figured he'd tee off on a puck given the space and time...this guy puts a TON on his shots. Even uncontested wristers from the blue line seem to give goalies trouble.

Yeah it's nuts. He gets rid of it so fast and puts so much behind it. Gets pucks high on goalies and fires from anywhere. Not to mention those silky mitts. Glad he's getting himself engaged in games.

Very reminiscent of some of Laines goals with a similar release.
