The day after an overtime loss against the Shawinigan Cataractes, the Drummondvillois took advantage of the passage of one of the worst teams in the QMJHL to reach the plateau of 40 victories for the first time since the 2018-2019 season.
Author of the first goal of the match, Ethan Gauthier reached the plateau of 30 goals for a second consecutive season.“I never set myself challenges in terms of points,” commented the 18-year-old Drummondvillois. My priority is to improve my game, to play in the right way and in my identity. If I do that, I will be rewarded, like it happened today.”
“We make no bones about it: in recent matches, we have had much better to offer as a team,” said Ethan Gauthier. The watchword this evening was to start from the first minute. It started with a big first presence, then we managed to get the first goal. From there, we played with our identity. We played physical, we were better on our forecheck and in certain aspects defensively. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a step in the right direction.”

goal for Howard

2 goals for Dylan Duke. He is the first Bolts prospect to score 20 goals in a college season since Alex Killorn

Assist for Isaac Howard

I would love both of these kids in the lineup asap. Dukes this year and Howard next year. We need a top 6 and middle 6 forward so cirelli and/or Paul can play center again.

He's a bit older, playing in a meh conference, and just an ok prospect at best. Would be nice if he makes it in the A at least

He's younger than Duke. ECAC is the same conference that the defending NCAA champ Quinnipiac plays in, also had 4 teams in the final 16 bracket last season. He is just an ok prospect but he is a gamer. He's 6'2 210 so he has a great frame to work with. So if you can improve his skating and round out his skill set a bit more then you can possibly get a Chaffee like bottom 6 producer.

The ECAC also has Harvard, a hockey program practically built by Alex Killorn

Eamon Powell, Nick Capone, and McKade Webster are our NCAA seniors. I think this may be the last group to get the grad year extension.

Powell probably gets signed. What about Capone and Webster?

Nick Capone always felt like a reach as a draft pick, and offense really isn't his game. I look at numbers like his and think ECHL. Low scoring, depth type players in a good college conference can be successful ECHL players.

I'm not sure what to think of McKade Webster. He'll be 24 in July. His numbers aren't super high or super low, and he is improving. Probably a career minor leaguer/Europe.

So it'll be Powell, Szturc, Roelens, Schmidt, and maybe Dylan Duke and/or Webster joining in the next few weeks/months?
