Slovakia with a dominant shift to close the period

Switzerland has to start hiding that Muggli/Bünzli pairing. Whenever the Slovaks have extended zone time it's almost always against those two. Maybe bench Bünzli for the 3rd and play Muggli with Balestra who barely played with Switzerland rotating just three defense pairings.

The Swiss looked very dominant in the 2nd period, but the Slovak top 6 is holding their own.

I feel like the Swiss will probably score and take the win here, as the players start to lose their legs in the 3rd.

Muggli looks better offensively (aside from that attricous PP shift) and in transition today. Didn't like him much defensively though. Particularly those of the boards clearling attempts.

You guys carried play all through the second, and will have momentum moving into the third. At least yeah your back line can all move the puck and break it out. We have like 3 guys who I trust to do that

Neuenschwander is a bit of an Anchor on Rebers Wing. He just looks awkward out there which is totally normal considering his age. They need to put Reber and Steiner togehter though as their chance from a couple of minutes ago showed.

I agree. What it does though is spread the wealth. I feel like Slovakia is a bit more front loaded than Switzerland. They've got more elite skill and more skill overall but less skating and less depth. With Steiner, Braillard and Reber all on separate lines they're much more difficult to shut down. The three most dangerous forwards on separate lines does hurt the Reber line but makes it easier for Switzerland to roll and attack with all four lines. Which may or may not the right call vs Slovakia. We're gonna find out.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the plan though. I think if it wasn't for the Gredig injury they start Neuenschwander as the 13th forward and PP specialist. The Gredig injury kinda opened a spot for Neuenschwander.

Yeah...if the Swiss stay out of the box then I like their chances. However, if the Swiss take more penalties they probably won't be lucky again to score themselves. Slovakia has more than enough skill to punish Switzerland on the PP. Switzerland has to solve the Bünzli/Muggli pairing as well or they'll bleed more goals.

Man those ads on TSN are wild. Nuts subscription services and wills. At least they don't want to sell me a catheter this time.

Him and Bünzli keep on giving away pucks and they're very soft against the puck. Which leads to sustained Slovakian offensive zone time. Sansonnens/Schneller and Rhyn/Johnson are much better pairings and never get caved in. That's why I'd bench Bünzli and play Balestra with Muggli.

Haven't seen those yet, but normally it's the same 4-5 commercials for the entire tournament. That annoying tik-tok identity-focused ad seems to be one of them this year.

I like Hirsch.. there is something unconventional about him but I like his energy. US college next year and that may refine his game.

Kirsch's rebound control is questionable but overall he's been excellent. Good to see Switzerland getting a level goaltending from both Neuenschwander and Kirsch. Switzerland used to get mostly very good goaltending at WJC's but it hasn't always been the case in recent years.
