Rooting for the Swiss here. They definitely have a chance and simultaneously I’m not following a Stuetzle bandwagon. I expect that Simon Knak’ll be a key figure of this one, even though he has no points in this tournament.

4-3 for Switzerland

Today is the most even day of the tournement, that said, this game will likely be the most lop sided. I would love the Swiss to win, but I think the Germans will take this pretty easily.

We have last change and the much better goalie...should be an easy win. Use Schläpfer, Marchand and Hofer to shut down Stützle and let Knak, Salzgeber and Jobin do the rest. On defense, let Pezzullo, Meier, Guggenheim and Chanton and Fiedler do the heavy lifting for 25mins each at least. Could be quite easy but our clowns will probably find a way to lose..as they have in previous games:facepalm::surrender

They'll probably continue to isolate our best player (Knak) and they'll continue to play Canonica vs the opponents top lines:help::facepalm:

Germany has the better game breaking players, should be a close game but I think Germany comes out on top.

We have the much better goalie and last change. That should normally do. But our clowns will continue to lean on our worst players and match them vs the opponents best players so you know already it's gonna go south for us. Genius coaching:facepalm:

True, goaltending is a major question mark for Germany. You guys will have to key in hard on Stutzle and Peterka.

Should be a close tight checking game, I think the Swiss would be best served to play a physical style of grinding game like they do to success at the senior level in the WHC.

Schläpfer, Marchand and Hofer should be able to do that and we have last change. You just know the clowns are gonna mess that one up though. I know it could be done but I know it most likely won't and our clowns are gonna blow it:D

I think it’s going to be a really close game, you guys are due for some goals here too.

Having a better goalie is huge, but ranking last change as the next most important asset seems.... worrisome.

If Switzerland wants to win it has to score goals, and the most notable goal scorers in this game seem to be on the other side.

We only got our top center back vs Canada so there's hope. But our coaches tried hard not to score. Knak and Jobin are probably our best offensive weapons, surely while Salzgeber was still injured. Our coaches played them with our worst players and Jobin only got around 8mins of ice time vs both Finnland and Slovakia. Our PP also featuring our worst forwards only (besides Knak). Kinda tough to score like this:laugh:

Will it get better today? I doubt it.

Germany is a one line team and we do have excellent and experienced shutdown defenders and forwards. Last change, if used correctly, could be absolutely huge. Switzerland not scoring any goals has more to do with the clowns than anything else.

That one line has been playing almost HALF the game. Obviously, their ice time will go down as they get their lineup back this game, but you will still get a pretty heavy diet of those guys.

Considering Switzerland‘s scoring woes, they don’t have much margin for error. If they give up two to the Steutzle line and one goal to one of the other lines, that’s quite possibly already too many to overcome.

The Germans have only one line, no matter how many players they get back today. We'd have at least two and a very good defense...our clowns are just holding them back. Our best players should be playing 20-25mins, too...instead, our 2nd best winger gets to play 8mins on the 4th line.

Rossi seems to be the only skilled player, not sure how much advantage last change really brings. The only hope for Switzerland is Germany's goalie. If they play anything like the Canada game, pucks on net will equal goals. I just have hesitations about anyone but Rossi doing anything.

Rossi? He's from Austria.

C'mon, Germany is not Canada. Switzerland clearly has an equal opportunity to win this game.

My brain says germany wins a close game but I also can't see the Swiss going pointless, great hockey nation with a lot of pride. So I'm going to pick the Swiss in an 'upset' (who would've said that 5 years ago).

It'll be a great game. To make it more fun, everytime they gush about Stutzl take a shot! See if you make it to first intermission.
