The Czechs seem way more clinical this tournament than I can remember. Even in the years they won they did a great job of being patient and pouncing on mistakes but not quite this level of finish.

Even against Canada, they keep pushing forward. We lost to Sweden but had a healthy dose of the play.

I honestly haven't seen anything like it since 2005 at any level for us.

I have yet to rewatch the goals against but from what I've seen that's a horrible period from Sidler. Given the fact that he's an NL regular and by far the most experencied defender that's surprising and disappointing to see.

Awful start obviously.. nice Swiss goal though. Glad we gained momentum and established our game. Bottom 6 is the story for the Czechs so far. They are unpleasant. Happy for the bilet family.. 14 hour drive and been to every game!

i feel its getting a bit too predictable at this point.

Might be smart to mix it up.
it works great in the AHL... he's killing it down there with that shot.

I think he has more to give in this tourney. It's nice winning and leading without him doing all the work. 2 or 3 tourneys ago he'd play Nurse minutes and be exposed.

He’s been frustrating to watch in this tourney imo, seems to play too slow

Just a reminder that the FInn's were destorying Sweden after 1 period. Nothing is over and Suchanek with his first questionable goal of the tourney. But he did get an apple.

40 minutes away from Gold med....I mean the QF win!!

@Czechboy if they manage to hang on to this lead tomorrow will be a national holiday in Czech?

Do you mean tonight?lol

As a Czech fan.. all I care about is winning a quarter at any tournament. I've had many disapointing quarters in the last 20 years... like 17 at this tournament for instance.lol

Well, things seems too be pretty bad for us 🤣

Great Czech team btw, very strong skating, if you make it to the semi I really hope that you can grab a medal

@Hinterland If you want to mald about Pasche today I'm not going to say anything
I don't think he had a chance on the 3 goals. The first goal happens because of a bs call and Alge/Streule both standing next to Kulich without doing anything to stop him. They were 2vs1 in a 4vs4 situation yet failed to cover the only dangerous guy near them. The 2nd one I have no clue what Sidler did there but it looked very casual. Probably fell asleep. The 3rd one is also on Sidler. His actions caused his opponent to crash into Pasche so Pasche once again had no chance at all. Pasche is a poor goalie but I think even a NHL goalie can't prevent those 3 goals.

I don't disagree but it seems every time the puck is passed towards Jiricek during a cycle in the offensive zone he's winding up for a big slap shot. He could try to walk the line or setup a teammate with a quick pass.

I think the first one was quite preventable by a bigger goalie

I don't know...but even if...if on in a 4vs4 you've gor two guys covering one the one guy shouldn't get to the puck first let alone be allowed to fire a shot from prime slot position.

There it is!

He's actually done all those things... scored in the blue paint against Sweden.. did a wrap around. He's got a toolbox but the bomb has been off.

Jiricek has a cannon

Am I off base when I say I see Shea Weber in his game? Beyond just the shot
It's a very flattering comparison.. I've also heard Burns mentioned a lot.

I think he's a high end mix of Slegr and Hamrlik.
