Someone needs to add his post game interview today to this thread.

It was absolutely hilarious, he went all out in saying all Switzerland can do is "hold on" and "Canada does everything better"

"what do you want me to say?!?!"

He must have been attempting gamesmenship to motivate his players but it was mental to listen to.

He could at least give the kids some hope. It even seemed like the reporters were actively trying to give him opportunities to say something positive and he just blew those questions off. I'm all for taking away the pressure and being realistic but you still gotta shoot for the stars.

Blatantly honest, but he's not entirely wrong.

It's one of our weaker teams recently and even with Hischier etc it would be quite the upset if they managed to get a win.

Not exactly a good statement for the morale of the team, I guess.

If it wasn't already clear to his team, they now know they are the underdogs.

It can't hurt their chances if they come out pissed.

Well, Canada is going to be an upgrade on the Czech team they just faced and I'm not sure how the score was so close in that game.

1/100 chance?

He's probably being honest, but I think he's trying to accomplish two other things:

-Set expectations low and puts pressure on Canada, i.e. they are the underdogs.
-Get his team fired up

"We just gotta play our game. Get 4 lines banging. Make sure to get pucks deep and........win some hockey games."

What he was expected to say.

"Canada how how many 1st round picks?"
"Seven"
"Seven? and the rest 2nd round picks, except that 4th round pick who's played the most NHL games. Oh, we have a 4th round pick too...and the rest undrafted"

That was without a doubt my favorite part, the way he starts off about their 4th round pick as if he was sarcastically bragging. Definitely not good to put his team down like that, but it was quite funny.

Canada vs the Swiss....

Yeah always goes so well. This guy doing the jinx.

Gonna be a close game and potential heartbreaker for Canada IMO.

They always bring 100% vs Canada for some reason and it's kind of annoying, but fully expected by me at this point.

He's a bit too brutal to my taste. At some point it starts to wear down on the players. I saw him constantly berate his players on the bench after goals conceded. This would be funny as an act, but I'm not sure I'd like to work for him at least for a long time.
