Sweden pretty sloppy but as a Nuck fan very happy to see Costmar getting the goal and lining up as the center on the 5 on 3 to end the period.

Really liked Lang for the Czechs and Malik looking good.

The Czech Republic play with incredible intensity and work very hard. Sadly Sweden are not matching that intensity at all. The Czech counter attacks are absolutely lethal.

That might simply be rust, this is Sweden's first game in a month or whatever while the Czechs are in much more of a game shape.

Sweden have mostly played on the Czechs terms. We need to get more puck possession on the offensive zone.

Sundsvik's looking like I thought he would in the o-zone. Sadly.

He's been playing almost exclusively as C and on the wing in the 4th line in the SHL. It's pretty hard to suddenly go from a defensive role into a 1C role on a small rink no less.

Malík, Haš, Teplý seem to be the cornerstones of this match.

Otherwise, the defenders are being too passive around the net. But activity and skating is looking good. I'm honestly quite glad that we have caught Sweden in the first match, the will grow with the periods following.

Let's see how will Czechs compete further.

That is definately a factor. Sweden need to adjust to smaller ice as well.

Great period of hockey... I was either expecting a clogged up and ugly period or Sweden to be up 3-0. Shots are even and chances are even. Really enjoyed how the Czechs have looked so far. Obviously, Sweden is rusty and superior in talent so curious how the 2nd period will look. Swedish Goalie has looked great.

Surprise of the game - Lang with 2 great looks. Malik has been solid.

I expect Sweden to take more control of the game soon.

I'm thrilled with a tie so far. The last Swede PK was a work of art. Let's see how they do on the next one.

That was probably the best period of hockey of the WJC so far.

This 2nd period is where the Swedes will bring it. Its understandable that they were a little tentative in the 1st with no exhibition games. We'll see if Czechs can hold on this period and if they do I think they can actually have a chance.

He had a good period, one turnover in the neutral zone after a solid breakout skating it out. But other than that good period for him, he was solid at both ends of the ice.

I thought Soderstrom looked really good in the 1st as well. Sweden has a good D core.

I think Swedes have solved Czech PP... they clogged every lane and stopped every pass. Really good work from them.
