Czechia is how czechs want English speakers to call us (despite removing it from the jersey)... Most Czechs hate czechia and don't call it that. I can't type it without getting pissed off so I go with the jersey name!

The top 3 surprised me but

After that OT... Suchanek is now a Czech god. He has allowed 2 against Canada and 3 (in two games) against Sweden. So his stats against the big boys are exceptional.

Spacek is not high end offence like svozil and he's not jiricek BUT he had been solid for 5 games and by solid I mean sensational.

Sapo leads the team in minutes.. he takes all the draws and does all the hard work. He's a beast and because of him... The other guys can fly a little. He is the perfect NHL 3C. Glad.hengot recognized tbh. All our forwards have been up and down but you can count ons sapo to do everything but score goals. Not an insult.

Yeah, Sapo impressed me a lot in this game. Will become a great, hard working and playmaking third line center. Well rounded, good on his skates, good puck handling etc etc.

Bloody hell. Poetic justice. Or unreal intervention of hockey goddesses tipping the scales in a whim of fortune and chance. We have seen this before and we will see it again. Yet it always feels as sweet and as bitter, depending, never bitter-sweet though.

But it does. Passingly. For those ”neutral” watchers who cannot remain cool, calm, collected - cynical, non-chalant, indifferent but let the unfolding sport drame involve and engage them, seduce and wake up their dead-cold hearts.. These extra-ordinary ordinary people lose their cool, their distance, objective position, yet unable to decide their side, they don’t have any; they have both, hoping both teams to fare and win, this impasse, impossible wish, dream only alive as long as the match goes on and leaves all possibities open. Suddenly or gradually lost balance, a strange shift of aspect, tingling feeling as if having unspecified emotionally vested interest in the lives of complete strangers..

We relate and feel for. And experience the bitter-sweet symphonies of life. Passingly. Even in hockey.

What a game! Congrats to Czechs and quantum of bitter-sweet solace to Swedes. This is only hockey, this is only life. In a nut-shell.
