When will people wake up.

Kicked out in 2018 og by germany.

Kicked out by team finland f in wc qf 2019

could not even make it to qf in wc 2021, lost to belarus and denmark (twice).

destroyed by slovakia with 4-0 today.

wjc? dominated by slovakia. even lost to them in hlinka cup. got kicked by switzerland in qf. And in u18 wjc sweden where not better than belarus and latvia. canada crushed sweden with 11-0. not even italy and uk lose with those numbers.

worst team in eht year after year.

when was the last time sweden actually where better than opponent? even games against latvia, germany, slovakia, switzerland, czechia swedens gets outshoot.

nhlers...overated. becuse of good past generations they got the chance in nhl. there is nothing special with swedish nhl fowards. the d is horrible, good offensive skills sure but no good play in their own zone. Even with almost best on best team sweden struggled like hell in wc 2018 and wc 2017 , some luck we had there. could ended in qf.

If anyone think Sweden is top-10 in the world then you are extremely delusional and are living in the past.

Hockey takes place in cycles, the roles are clearly divided. It is top5 and teams from sixth to tenth place. Sweden is firmly in the top 5, no one doubts that. Finland is currently at the top, Canada is stable and then there are three even teams. The sixth place is also firmly occupied by the Czech Republic, but the difference between the top 5 and the Czech Republic is still quite large. Closer to the Czech Republic is the seventh team than they to the fifth.

My feeling about the Swedish national team game is that it doesn't have enough winning mentality. This is true for all teams, not just the adult team. When you mentioned 2006, for me, Mats Sundin represents exactly what is missing today. Go hard after the opponent to make the match hurt him and still suffer defeat. If the match is not going well, then increase the activity and add in the deployment. Canada has this element encoded in its genes, there it is that if I don't knock down my opponent, I'll knock me down.

Nevertheless, I think that a medal will come soon, Sweden is definitely not on its knees as you try to claim.

Finland

Czechoslovakia
ROC
USA
CIS
Czech Republic
Russia
Slovakia
Czechia

Sweden might battle it out with Germany after that but at any point in history I take those teams, at the very least, over Sweden.

I understand your point and frustration over the result but you're going a bit overboard. Sweden finished 9th in the 2021 World Championship and 4th in the 2022 Winter Olympics. I don't think it's "extremely delusional" to think such performance places a country in the top 10.

Sweden won back-to-back world champs in 2017-2018. I can't imagine the talent pool has gone to the shitter since then. Nevertheless, like any serious organization, I'm sure the Swedish ice hockey federation will assess the results, whether they are systemic, and take action. They did it in the early 2000's with great results. They can and will do it again.

Wake up people. I honestly wish Slovakia their success, but in terms of national teams comparison, it means exactly nothing. "Thanks" to the NHL not releasing players to olympics competition is preventing us from seeing true nation competition.. Be sure Sweden is still absolutely top hockey power. To be honest I hate this situation.. World championship without top players? OK, I can take that. But how can commerical league stop us from seeing best national hockey at least once per four year on olympics games? I understand the reasons from NHL side, but come on, it is commerical league againts Olympics! And it should be much more then one commerical league.
Every hockey fan can clearly see that this kind of Olypic hockey is at least level below ordinary NHL regular season game

No. There isn't anything that says Sweden would be ahead of Finland right now. Do you guys even have a coach? Let me remind me you of 2019. You had at least half of your best NHL-players and you didn't manage to beat a Finnish team without NHL & KHL players. These last eight years Finland have 3 gold and one bronze in the WJC´s. What about Sweden? Three silver and one bronze. You are just completely wrong.

Olympics as a concept is highly overrated. And I for one am happy that the NHL doesn’t bend over to the corrupt money hungry shit that the IOC is. Albeit the NHL’s motivations aren’t exactly noble, I’m still glad.
