If anyone saw a commotion in 102 near the glass during the anthems, that was me passing out for no reason at all. I went home afterwards and watched NHL history being made on TV. I could see my empty seats every time the camera panned left and right. I have been going to Hurricanes games since Greensboro, but watching Svech pull this goal off on TV when I had seats literally 35 feet from the net is the most Canes Fan thing ever.

BTW, The PNC arena security staff and EMTs are very professional and took good care of me. Thanks to them all.

That is the saddest story I've ever heard.

Also, lololol.

Also, hope you're ok.

Hope you are well.

In a similar note, I went to every playoff game in 09 except 1. I told my wife she should take the tickets and take a friend to the game. She had been so great while I was taking off and going with a friend. Of course, it was the NJ game that the game winner went off Jussi's skate with no time left and Brodeur had a meltdown. Another one of the great goals in Canes history.

Also hope all is well with Bevy. Must have been a bit scary.

My "had to leave the game" moment came in 2006 playoffs game 2 against Buffalo. I was vacationing about 2 hours away and drove to RBC with one of my kids to watch the game while the rest of my family and friends continued the vacation. Not sure what I ate, but 5 minutes into the 1st, I felt like I was about to throw up. Was able to keep it down, although I had two trips to the rest room, but at intermission, I knew I had to leave and ran into a buddy who had upper level tickets so I gave my tickets to him and his son so they could sit lower level. Even though I told him I was sick, the guy was profusely thanking me and I was about to hurl all over him, but quickly exited RBC and promptly threw up in the trash can outside the arena. Some guy thought I was smashed and came up to me and said "You aren't driving drunk with that kid." Kudos to him for intervening and I held no ill will toward him, but he soon realized I wasn't drunk and after throwing up, I felt good enough to drive.

Finished watching the game from my couch so missed out on the game and on a vacation night. At least they won.

I missed the "Luke I am your father" moment when ESB debuted on TV and went to school the next day, totally clueless. 6 year old me was a laughingstock that day.

So, I was talking to a good friend of mine tonight at church. He was telling me about going to the game last night & how he had decided to spring for some good seats down close to the glass. They were sitting there before the game & the next thing they know, the guy they were sitting next to just passes out. Needless to say, it got his attention. In just a second, the guy comes to like nothing had happened.
Fast forward to the anthem & dude passes out again. My friend runs up the stairs to tell the usher they need EMS down at the glass pronto. He comes back to find the guy arguing with his wife saying that he hadn't passed out.

I'm guessing that was you?

Yep. That would be me. I remember the first two lines to "O Canada" Next thing I remember is my waking up around puck drop. If you are going to fall out, do it on first responder appreciation night! I don't remember much before walking back up the stairs but the wife says the people around us were on point.

He wanted me to tell you that he's glad you're doing better!

What are the chances we see this type of goal again?
Everything has to be in perfect sequence to score a 'lacrosse goal' in a split second!!
