I find myself constantly pulling my pants up and its very annoying. I know I can get suspenders, but I'm just trying to figure out what I need exactly.

I have Bauer (vapor 3.0) hockey pants. There aren't any buttons for where suspenders would get attached to, all I have is an elastic belt around the waist and was wondering if this is standard, or if I need certain pants to use suspenders?

I looked up some straps & suspenders online and am wondering how they're supposed to connect to the pants.

I use suspenders on my goalie pants, but they came with buttons. Two on each side of the front, and two in the middle of the back. When one has fallen off, I replace them with a jeans button from the fabric store. They come in a little kit, with a tool to push the two-piece button together. Super cheap and easy. You might need to make a hole through the pants with an awl or something first.

Suspenders are old school, and I've had people poke fun at me for wearing them (even though they're still pretty common on goalies), but to me they're the best - your pants stay up without having to wear a tight belt. Much more free feeling.

I would second this.

If your pants did not come with suspender buttons, you may have to fashion them in.

Suspenders typically have 'loops' to fasten around those buttons, like this:

Why are you pulling your pants up? Can't you tighten them?

Don't wear suspenders..ever.

If OP could tighten them, then why would they be asking about suspenders?

And why shouldn't anyone wear suspenders? Because you think they don't look cool?

A lot of people have skinny waists with a long inseam such that they need a larger sized pant, which ends up being a bit too wide in the waist. Suspenders are the natural solution.

I made the switch to suspenders last season, and it's probably the best equipment move I've made. My pants always used to ride low, and now I don't have to worry about them. My pants came with the side and back buttons that connect to the suspender loops, though. Talk to a pro shop and see if they'll install them for you. Most locals shops would do this for free (or for a very small fee) if you buy their suspenders.

Basically in a nutshell. No bags that roll either. Put it on your shoulder.

I had to get them because playing hockey made me lose weight and my pants wouldn't stay up anymore. They stay up much better now, even better than before, and my jersey never becomes tucked in now (we have to have our jerseys out, league rule). Definitely one of the best hockey purchases I've made, along with wax laces

yeah, not quite sure why you see suspenders as "uncool". I switched to a girdle last year so I no longer have need for suspenders but used them up until that point for 2 reasons. 1) they kept my jersey from tucking into my pants and 2) I wore them OVER my shoulder pads to help keep the pads from riding up into my neck. look around any NHL locker room and you'll see at least a few guys who do this.
some times you have to go function over fashion.

I got the A&R suspenders but I keep getting one strap or the other falling down which is really annoying... It might be due to the material they are made from. I think I'm switching back to CCM suspenders, never had this issue with my old CCM (nylon) suspenders...

Could these kind be an option? Can you work the hooks under the elastic band?

It's because the triangle thingie on the back keeps slipping down, allowing the straps that go over the shoulders to slip further down.

You can push the triangle thing as high up as you want, and then put tape or a few stitches right under it so it doesn't go much lower.

Wow, I never thought of doing that. Thanks! I will try it before pickup this Saturday...

This must be a common issue with A&R suspenders to make them create a fix for it.
If the above method doesn't help, I will either try this option or go back to using CCM suspenders.
