Please give us Dallas.
that games does big numbers. Kickoff game, just need a good nor great matchup. Stafford and Rams or Bears with Ben Johnson debut would be most likely. Raiders, a maybe depending on who they have at QB. If they go veteran, NFL might put them on.

I can't believe I'm defending Mahomes because he and his family can both go to Hell (more the latter tbh), but no QB stood a chance tonight against the Eagles the way that defense was playing.

Mahomes is a slam-dunk all-timer and this doesn't change that.

Fully agreed and was definitely not trying to say otherwise. I don't think I've ever seen a DL manhandle an OL like that in the NFL.

This was a more severe, but similar, version of what the Bucs did to them during the Brady years.

You (general you, not you specifically) can't really say there's a blueprint to beating a team as successful as the Chiefs, because no one has a defensive front close to Philadelphia's, but if there *was* a blueprint, it would be for a team to overwhelm them at the LOS without a blitz. But again, that's not very reproducible because no one else has can do what the Eagles can right now.

Chiefs are a great team and regrettably they will be right back in the mix next year.

Chiefs rightly concluded that Orlando Jones wasn't worth the money they paid him, but have completely failed to replace him.
Orlando Brown Jr? Yeah.

Lots of needs to fill for KC. OT, OG (Smith leaves or they cut Thuney to free up cap for Smith), TE (if Kelce retires), DT (have 3 DT as free agents), LB (if they don't pay Bolton), RB, WR (need someone to take a major step)

Philly, they need to replace Becton at RG, likely with 3rd rd pick Steen, add depth at TE, replace loses on DL like Williams, Baun at mlb.

WR is fine.

Rice will be back and he was off to a super elite start. He'll have his suspension but that will probably be a max of 4 games.

Worthy really showed what he can do in the latter part of the season, so their top 2 positions are pretty set.

As for TE, Kelce is definitely declining but still top 5 as far as TE go. Noah Gray looked pretty good this year though. I think the Chiefs would be fine with him as TE1 if they had to.

I don't think cutting Thuney to keep Smith makes a lick of sense though. I know Smith is younger, but Thuney is way better. If they could trade Thuney then that would be great, as they'd get some draft capital, but cutting him doesn't work.

Ultimately that Taylor contract blows. He's a below average player and among the highest paid at his position. That really sucks. It was a gamble that did not pay off.

It might not be recognized historically, but the Eagle defense in this game should be ranked as one of the best performances of all time.

They were certainly dominant up front, that was one of the Best D pressure/Worst Oline performances I can recall ever seeing, Mahomes had almost no time on every play, he was running for his life as soon as he took the snap

Some of that is on him still. There was quite a few times that his o-line held yet he still tried to escape the pocket and ran himself into sacks.

Andy Reid also failed by not calling more plays that had him get rid of the ball more quickly but I don't know if that was on Reid or on Mahomes's inability to process fast enough.

When they came out in the second half that’s what they started doing.

Fox showed a shot towards the end of the first half, believe it was the drive after the pick 6, which was only 3 plays, and Andy Reid had a panicked look on his face and I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.

Trying to figure out where this was from Philly last year, amazed after how it ended in 2023 the entire coaching staff and Sirianni was not fired. Did not really add anyone on D either, someone will write a book for sure where we'll find out there was something going on in that dressing room in 23.

Eagles are the class of the league tbh. Howie is a magician when it comes to roster building, utilizing the cap and making trades.

Siranni is a good CEO coach who knows how to hire OC/DCs

They added Baun and Gardner-Johnson as free agents and drafted Mitchell, DeJean. No giant names or super high picks, but Baun was excellent, Gardner-Johnson was solid and Mitchell and DeJean were insanely good for rookies.

They also got a really good coordinator to run the D which helps a ton (thanks to the Dolphins organization being insanely soft top to bottom such that the players aren't really prepared to compete when it isn't always fun)

Yea they're still in a fairly good cap situation too. I assume Sweat will want to (and deserves to) get paid since he's entering the void years of his deal, a couple others might want an extension and getting paid after winning, but they've got some space to make plays.

I mean, completely different roster from last year. They added a few obvious pieces in FA, both of their top draft picks were stud starters on their defense. Kellen Moore looked like he wanted to prove that he wasn't the issue in Dallas, I'm confident he dispelled that myth with getting a HC gig and the work he did with that Eagles offense this year. The Eagles could honestly fall back into the same hole as they did in 2023 if the coordinator hires are bad if Fangio decides to call it quits and retires.

What's crazy is that this SB was always going to be a massacre against ANY AFC team. The Ravens probably had the most capable roster to go toe to toe with the Eagles but the Ravens are also the best team in the league at punching themselves in the nuts.
