Referees didn't have other choice / choices of course you can speculate that how much as you want.
But IIHF rulebook says clearly kneeing is automatic 5+20 so no excuses.

And yes it good for Finland Kemell didn't injure himself.
But also Sykora should know better and be smarter especially because he has A in his jersey
and when you're assistant captain and you have leader's role in your team yo have to show example

I respectfully disagree. I like Sykora, but he stuck his knee waaayy out. On this play Nemec led with his shoulder, bad angle taken led to the penalty.
