WABI doesn't broadcast in our region @Fenway, BECAUSE NEITHER station has studios here, nor does WABI broadcast in Southern Maine, because it's Bangor.... 2 hours North AND that's a straight shot driving-wise.... NewsCenter Maine isn't here either in Lewiston, Sinclair is though and WMTW still has their studio here as a backup for the 8/51 COMBO in Westbrook IN Case the primary studio gets hit by lightning..... REMEMBER, Presque Isle has WAGM TV as well
WLBZ doesn't really exist now since the branding shifted to WCSH, only WMTW/WGME HAVE STUDIOS ready and available in Central Maine

Channel 6 owns the Portland market with Sinclair's 13/23 a distant second and then Hearst on 8 trailing badly.

then why post WABI in a thread that has no significance to Southern Maine.... Sinclair dominates the Portland market... rarely does WPFO make a dent there because ONLY Sinclair and Hearst are based in Central Maine, in fact, I'M Less than 15 minutes from Sinclair's Lewiston Studio and NCM'S Lewiston studio was shuttered a while back.... the only connection WABI has in Maine Athletics and that's carried by WPXT, which is Hearst controlled, even Charter itself splits our state into three zones.... Portland/Augusta/Lewiston-Auburn and Bangor..... three different channel guides as well, and that doesn't even include the subset channels like H&I, Charge, TBD, Quest, to name 4, because by FCC Regulation the station must be identified every hour..... 2 of the subset channels are WPXT TBD IS Sinclair and Quest is Tegna/ECC, AS Tegna likes to put their affiliates under one block, so News Center Maine is actually legally East Coast Communications, and run by Tegna.... all WPFO does is get paid by Sinclair to produce their 10 pm newscast.... Hearst does the same w/ WPXT in that 10 pm timeslot but the difference is Hearst owns both stations .
of Course Megan is still there on Hearst.... but both Tegna and Sinclair have lost employees to Boston or elsewhere namely in their weather division.... one former employee of NCM left the industry to become a High School Teacher.... and another former employee at NCM was broadcasting here from Fox 61 because both are Tegna properties ANOTHER employee just left Sinclair, where she was originally a reporter then transitioned to meterologist, and is now at WBZ 4, even Hearst had transitions but most of those departed to WMUR, the Hearst affiliate in Manchester.... as Bottari and Jackie Thomas went there from WMTW.... Allison Ross came here from out west and Chrisos previously was at Sinclair
Going to my first concert since 2019 tonight at the Garden. First time really being in a crowd. Having an anxiety disorder during everything is not ideal. Sister bought these tickets months ago in hopes id be able to get the courage to go. She really took the time to get good seats. Club level. First row. Not really with a lot of people. I should be okay. I'll be masking and taking the necessary precautions. I will be okay. I keep saying to myself. But I deserve some joy after 3 years. I'm going to try to allow myself that.

Being first row in the section will definitely help. Wish I was working so I could come say hello, but I've got baseball practice with the kids tonight. Try (easier said than done, I get it!) to let go and immerse yourself in the entertainment. The show sold better than I expected but there should still be half empty sections upstairs. So if the optics of a packed house give you the heebiejeebies, fear not.

I was an RA in college, and one of the other RA's we worked with at the time put out a fire that started in a trashbarrel in the bathroom for one of the dorms, and was lauded as a big hero for being in the right place at the right time. Then she "put out" 3 more of them before they figured out she was setting them for attention. She was fired from her job as an RA but not expelled from college, which I honestly didn't understand. Should have been tossed and banned from all the buildings.

Anywho-it's no biggie. Trevor has precheck but he just goes with me through security because it's sometimes physical for me with one strong hand and its cumbersome for me to manage things.
