Sudbury Wolves 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

I think Windsor takes the cake pretty easily in this one. Just ask old time Knights fans. They put Oshawa and London to shame. Just too many crazies there.
Maybe 20 years ago ( at the old barn) but it is pretty tame there now. No arena has those vibes anymore.
There is always the one off stuff but on a whole it is fun to travel to most arenas.

Please clarify because I'm confused.

Firstly, anyone calling the Uens touch/bump on Musty at the end of the game a cheap shot is ridiculous. Watch it again several times. It was the slightest bit of contact on the way to the celebration and guaranteed Musty embellished that. Injured or not previously that touch doesn't hurt anyone. My wife doesn't even skate and would not have fallen to the ice from that contact. And if it was such a cheap shot, where were his teammates? No one came to defend him or console him while he laid on the ice for a minute. He was simply trying to draw something.

The cheap shots that I saw were a crosscheck to the face of a defenseless player, and an elbow to that same players face that apparently broke his nose (no call), Mews acting like a lumberjack swinging his stick the entire game, and Coughlan and Street running people late and when they didn't have the puck.

As a Fronts fan I hope that the Wolves come out uncomposed and try to take liberties on Uens or others. Our powerplay which was one of our biggest strengths all year has been abysmal in the first two games. Opportunities for it to wake up and start clicking would be ideal in an all important game three. Although from what I hear I would be surprised if anyone feels the need to come to Musty's defense for that embarrassing embellishment.

And listen. Friendly banter and disputes during a playoff series in a forum like this is fun so don't anyone go pouting and have me suspended for disagreeing with you. Another Fronts poster msgd me saying that if we say anything negative about the Wolves on here you get reported.

It will be a great game tonight if the Wolves stick to playing hockey.
I think you got lost, here you go: Kingston Frontenacs 2024 25 Season Thread Part Iii

It's weird how the Wolves thread is polluted with Kingston fans making up stories but the Kingston thread seems to mostly be fronts fans.

First off, if you don't want other posters coming in here, then ask the moderator to close the thread. Secondly, his post had no "made up" stories, but you think it didn't happen that's fine. Enjoy the game tonight

I can confirm the fronts players are actually happy to see Street on the ice, because he's slow and will likely either cough up the puck or get a penalty. His staredowns that he likes to do are not intimidating anyone.

Lame. It's a playoff series. We would welcome banter over there from Wolves fans and other teams. We don't get offended by people defending points about their teams. That would be childish. What's the point of just crying to each other on your own thread. What stories were made up? If the Wolves thread is polluted with Wolves fans talking crap about the Fronts it only makes sense for Fronts fans to enter the conversation.

Yeah, I can remember listening to a game long time ago when Sam McMaster was the general manager and he was doing color. John Tanner was the goalie for the Wolves and someone threw a coffee on the ice narrowly missing him. Could have burned his back or neck, but yeah, I know wild place, they didn’t call it the madhouse on McDougall for nothing. On a positive note the Wolves actually won that game, one of a few road games they won during those years.

Call me old school but damn I LOVED the tension in the air, walking into the away teams barn.
Yes, I can remember the 1990 series against the Owen sound Platers when a whole group of us went down on the bus and basically took the arena over. You could hear us well above the Owen Sound fans and yes, there was talk of their fans meeting us outside, wild times. We won that game in overtime on a goal by Sean O’Donnell to go up 3-1 only to lose in seven on the infamous Paul Coleman call. I’ll maintain to the end that we didn’t lose that series we were robbed of it. In fact, I was just thinking of it the other night Jeff Christian almost decapitated Adam Bennett, and was not even ejected from the game and ended up scoring. Today he probably wouldn’t have seen another game in the series. Very goon like team in Owen Sound that year. To this date, I’ve never seen a team so badly outplayed as the Platers were in game 7 only to win on that bad goal long shot. Talk about wild times, Coleman needed a police escort out of town and I heard he got a shot in the face on the way out. Suffice to say he never came back.

I’m talking cheap shots behind the play all game. But of course you didn’t see it right? If the refs aren’t going to call it then the players will take matters into their own hands.

I remember the old days at the Sudbury barn. There was always a group of people chirping the players after the game heading to their dressing room. “Start the bus” and shit like that. Those were the days. Things are definitely tame now in comparison.

Also, no word on suspensions. Nothing posted on the OHL website.
Guilty as charged. I got butt ended by Ryan Vandenbush? from Cornwall (we used to chirp the players in the tunnel on the way to their dressing room. Cops were all over me until the fans explained what happened. Actually got a call from the cops apologizing. Imagine ;) Ah the “stories I could tell”.

I was thinking of days at the old barn. I haven’t been to the new one yet, but the old one literally was a madhouse.
