Sudbury Wolves 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

McCoy is going to get 2 games for that. It’s what they want out of the game.

I have no idea why Musty tried to chase down Heyes after he scored only to get grazed in the face and play dead.

Some of the post whistle stuff was a bit embarrassing.
Sudbury when they started playing hockey and stopped running around looked pretty solid in the third.
Unfortunately I don’t think guys like Villy, Street, musty will be able to contain their emotions with how badly they are being outplayed.
Krawlchuck was amazing though.
Could argue we really need a culture change in terms of discipline. We also tried our best to help the Petes beat us a few years back.

I watched this many times. Musty was skating away after the goal and I believe #44 from Kingston skated from behind him and gave him a push. It cuts away after he got pushed so I can see why he got upset.

All good points.

I think Kingston is a good skating team and their puck possession against the wolves has been pretty good. Specially in game 1. Perhaps that speaks to them having overall better talent upfront?
Well very likely as they did finish something like twenty points ahead right. I still think they’re beatable though and will predict their run will end next round if they get past the Wolves. Tough though, a more disciplined and specifically healthy Wolves team would have a real shot.

Well Tuesday should be heated. Kingston won’t be gifted the series without a few ice packs.
I’m 99% sure Ethan Hays nose is broken.
Kingston has 3/4 guys like Uens, Heyes, Pickell that will torment the shit out of Sudbury and make guys like Villy and Musty who have never been able to control their emotions snap.
And that trade off works heavily in Kingstons favour.
You have to wonder if anyone loses their job once they lose Mews after spending that on a rental player.

This team is so beatable Chucky is head and shoulders over Schenkel and it usually all comes down to goaltending. Musty will be the difference in this series if he stays healthy. Villy on fire go get this game it is there for the taking.
Will Krawchuck play like that every game though? He’s been the star of the series by far so far, however that level of play is likely unsustainable.

Villeneuve when he’s not flopping on the ground like a fish is a real damn good player- wish we had him.

Who cares! Why you trying to drum up crap? Wolves win today and you're not posting in here. Wolves without Delic, Roberts and McCoy for this game hurts. And if your talking taking dives Hay sure looked dead on the McCoy hit and the Kearns hit and still came back without skipping a beat. Roberts on the other hand that hit was only a 2 minute and never returned. So inconsistency from Refs at their best. Falling for the Hay dives. McCoy hit was soft. That's a two minute call in the NHL. Hay would should have got two for emblishement and two for slashing at Chucky. That's how that call shout of went. So gloat all you want. Wolves were battered coming into the playoffs and still are. Kingston goes out in the first round same conversation can be had about the deal for Wills and Bishop right???

If they can lesson Kingston to 3 goals are less they have a chance. They need to generate more than 3 goals to beat this team it seems. Scoring the 1st goal would be ideal in game 3.

You have no idea why, because that never happened.... Musty simply gets caught in the goal celebration and got pushed from behind. Watch the replay, he's not even moving his feet let alone "chasing him down".

Picklell? You mean the guy that got his ass handed to him then celebrated ?

Say what you want, Chucky was the best player on the ice today, he in the past was known for that weak goal or two, unfortunately it was at the wrong time today. This team is so beatable with their lack of finish and real shakey goaltending. Wolves are more than capable of evening this series.

I'd add coughlan to the list of players that get emotional.

When it comes to Hayes he took a cross check to the NECK at the lowest, that's not a little thing. to say he embellished is just wrong. The second hit was directly to the head, he didn't just bounce right back up he went to the room.

Villy didn't leave the bench and missed next to no time.

I can see McCoy missing games, and wouldn't be surprised if Kearns gets a game too.

Pickell 5’9 186 Kearns 6’3 203 and Pickell definitely didn’t get his ass handed to him. Probably lost fight but I’d certainly hope a guy who is 6 inches taller and 17lbs heavier wins the fight- good for Pickell sticking up for Hay who I have been told if he gets 1 more concussion he is done playing hockey.

Correct after the second one I’m pretty sure he missed the rest of the period or most of it and when he came back he was bleeding nonstop from his nose would constantly have to wipe it with a towel and put Kleenex back up nose to stop bleeding so he could play

Real shakey goaltending?? Where was that? Been to both games and through 2 games Schenkel has a 0.929 sv% which is actually higher than Krawchucks 0.920. Both goalies have been absolutely stellar so far

I am quite familiar with Ben and have all the respect in the world for him. He fought his way back from a troubling time when drafted by Barrie to where he is today. He stood up for a teammate did not just stand and stare like two of our players in the first game causing Villi to have to step in which led to 17 mins in penalties. He is a team player and the boys just love him. Good old Clarington Eagles boy good friends with Jack Thompson.

He is so out of position swimming in the net watch the first goal and then count the number of quality shots he has had to handle in both games. He has not been the same Goalie since arriving fro the Soo, just never got his game back.

The Fronts have the 4th best PP in the league and it has struggled the first two games. That lack of finish you mention may regress to the norm.

Tough loss for the boys. They looked gassed in that 2nd ot. They came out slow in the first, but picked it up. If they can play they way they did after the first, they can make a series of it. Hopefully playing at home will also help. On another note.. I was at the game and Kingston fans are something else. Chirping players about their moms is just classless. Then they get upset when our players do something, but it’s ok when their players do it 😂 talking about how dirty the wolves are, but they're the ones delivering cheap shots behind the play.. Which you don’t see when you’re watching on tv. Now it makes sense why the Wolves reacted in certain ways. They should still try and keep their composure, but I get it, now that I’ve seen it. Like I said in an earlier post, we just give em what they give us. Go Wolves!
