So you should be wanting them to trade him for literally anything if he's so worthless, right?

Lots of factors to consider, if you are a team in the markets he wants to go to.

We have 2 examples of a similar situation this year in Bertucci and Barlow,

Bertucci was 3 players, plus 2x 2nds and 3x 3rds then that team flipped him for 2 players 1x 2, 1x 3, 1x 4.

Barlow was 2 players, plus 2x 2nds, 2x 3rds, 1x 5th and 1x 7th.

Barlow being a winger would be closest comparable.

Statwise (Career)
Musty - GP 167, G 89, A 142, P 231, +15, 217 PIMS
Barlow - GP 204, G 135, A 79, P 214, +12, 97 PIMs

So on a career basis Musty has 17 more Points in 33 less games and is far less disciplined on the ice. Is discipline a product of the coach?

We have had a new coach every year.

Any team looking at picking him up would want to have a talk with their coach and the leadership group about their thoughts on bringing them in.

As for a wrist injury, while each player is different Matthews came back and scored 69 goals in one year.

Another factor is agents or advisors can sometimes play a role in nudging deals along.

If I felt my coach could handle any attitude injuries, the player wants to be in my organization and we are in a spot we are competitive i would take a hard look.

I would atleast start with our 1st rounder and a combo of 4 picks in rnds 2-4.

Never offered an opinion...Never said he was worthless...dont know where you got that from. The only personal thing that I wrote was me hearing him telling the coach to f off.
Its just that there are so many professional GMs here that someone would offer an opinion

We have a player that scores 2pts per game for last year and a half..
We have a player that is a signed NHL first round draft pick…
We have a player who is a first overall pick in the OHL draft…
We have a player that has matured and when he returns wants to prove everyone wrong…
We have arguably the most offensively gifted offensive player in the league…about to back from a hand injury..
We have a difference maker…
We have a player (if traded) should guarantee his new team a trip to the league championship…
We have a player that if not traded gives the Wolves the best added asset for NO cost…
We have a player that will be Ultra Motivated…
72 hours left to determine who really wants Quentin Musty…

I never felt he connected with the fans, he was here more for self interest and fast track path to the NHL, imo.

With all these teams loading up in the East, maybe good time to move him.

He has burnt too many bridges as A GM other GMs have no respect for him and are content just to stay clear of any dealings with him.

Windsor, Flint, Erie, Brampton, Brantford haven't made their moves yet. Oshawa might have one more move. This is a sellers market, this should be an easy decision but since this might be Papineau's last chance, he might just buy big. Doing nothing is not an option

I don't see him going all in. He be crazy not to do nothing in my opinion at least move Musty.

In other news.. as many have speculated - Villeneuve officially suspended for 2 games. Eligible to return Jan 12th against Kingston.

Don't expect much from Sudbury today. They play tonight and are already missing Clayton with an injury as well as Musty. And Villeneuve is suspended for 2 games. With the lack of depth already hampering this team I doubt they move anyone today and be left with a very depleted line up vs the Soo tonight. I suspect tomorrow will be the day where they finally make a move whatever that may end up to be.

If they have a trade in the books, it would be silly to have the player play and risk injury.

Musty definitely needs to be traded for assets. Honestly, I would keep the two overage defence unless you’re gonna get something really good in return, having them around will be good for the team and benefit the younger players. They’ve been competitive and adding some assets for Musty well only contribute to that competitiveness. Maybe a tweak here or there if they can pick someone up for very little. But then I say go with that team and let the coaching do its thing, they will definitely make the playoffs unless it’s a total collapse the rest of the way which I don’t see happening. So you’ll get that valuable experience and who knows really I mean they could play really great the rest of the way and go into the playoffs on a roll and be dangerous. But mortgaging the future when it’s not gonna make a damn bit of difference in the end is stupid, but we know the smartest decision decisions are not always made by our general manager lol.

Team is in a rebuild OAs along with Musty bring in assets when moved. A person would have to be crazy to think this team is a contender after the moves made in the eastern conference. Coach Barney has to see this and for the future has to go over the Gms head and convince Dario that his GM is delusional. Moves have to be made for the benefit of the players and fans as time is running out. Papineau should not set his sites on winning the draft lottery as his idea of a rebuild, and that could possibly be where he is heading.

Having Musty rejoin the team could be considered equivalent to a big trade... After all he has not played many games this year. Surely we are more competitive with him in the lineup. A few more tweaks would be great though... Here's hoping!
