I would think after the London deal basically sowing up the west ,the teams in the east that feel they can go all the way to face London would have the most interest in Musty now

If you are inclined to believe @OHL4Life (which I do considering his track record here), the ask for Musty from London earlier in the year is complete and utter lunacy. Typical Paps.

That is a crazy asking price and everyone knows that but Papineau is setting the market. Buyer goes low, seller goes high, typical of negotiation. He knows, or at least I hope he knows, he's not getting that.
Molnar was injured for a while and hasn't mixed with the right linemates yet. Give him some time. I agree on DiGiantomaso as he's a soft turnover machine and a younger player can easily fill his space and do more for the team
Papineau may have been re-affirming he is a dink, not setting a price that was already set in the Rehkopf & Barlow trades. Papineau could have made the case Musty is bit better, add a 3rd.
That’s a fair statement. Musty is a better player and maybe worth an extra pick or slightly better player. London wouldn’t and shouldn’t agree to that. Either way, Papineau should ask for at least a price that’s already been set
Few teams are left that would be interested in him so price will be much less than what Papineau will expect. If he is waiting for a firsty when that window opens he had better have a deal done already or the chances of getting true value that late will be hard. He waited too long last season and all the potential good ones were gone and we all know what happened after that. Hopefully history doesn’t repeat itself.
Hopefully they scout the players they acquire a bit more this time. I'm sure Klinkhammer sold a few extra season tickets but he was not an OHL player and Ewles is the weakest d-man in the lineup most nights. Picks are nice, but they need bodies on the ice if they sell off as well.
Musty is the top attraction on the market, if Papineau is willing to trade him to an Eastern Conference team the bidding war will be high. I still think Musty is going to Erie eventually.
Yes, it can't all be pick based unless they move those picks for some good players, not just throw ins. The Wolves have a lot of picks already so I would accept less in picks in favor of a stronger player. Look at what North Bay did in the fall as a prime example
Leander’s, Barlow Wakley all went early in the season when more teams were weighing their options, after Londons moves not to many teams in the west are going to be that eager to go all in. The east however is different, Barrie, Oshawa, and a few others can go for winning the east thus facing London and generating a lot of games which results in revenue. Let’s hope our GM does not have his rose coloured glasses on and believes we are also one of these teams. I hope we get a kings ransom for Musty but I just don’t see it, hopefully I am wrong but as you all know, I don’t have that much faith in our GM.

Every post he makes about the Wolves, he goes out of his way to insult Papineau to try and make him sound awful. He sounds to me like someone who is bitter he got passed up for a job in Sudbury, or knows someone who was. Clear agenda and wouldn't trust one word out of his mouth.
Maybe if you are able to speak to some of the Gms some of the scouts and mostly some of the players and even some billets you will get some perspective on there feelings with respect to your GM and coach last season. Why do you think Musty did what he did, why did Drake come on board with conditions. Why was Brent hired only to be put in Papineau,s box so someone would be there to listen to him. You are attached to his purse strings what is your reason?

Klinkhammer was a throw in, Ewles is a very strong 4-5 DMan on this current team and has performed very well. Yes some bad games but way more better ones playing with young D.
As far as the trade goes it was more about the return of picks (which was massive) to rid ourselves of OA players we’d have to release due to having so many 20 year olds and a player who wasn’t a good teammate.
Too me, our GM struck early on the OA market and got an amazing return under the aforementioned circumstances.
