We beat ourselves tonight.

Undisciplined play and behind the bench cost us.

I don’t blame Brassard or Anania or Toure. You can’t ask for more from them.

Missing Collins though. That’s enough to make us go out.

WJ

Good on Toure for defending the goalie, I'll take that penalty all day.
Man that’s the kind of thinking that got us in the mess we’re in.i It was a little tap. Pick your battles man. Inexperience and bad decision making showed tonight.
Goyette sooo close to tying it up
Key saves.

Same story all year. PP terrible. Deserved a better fate though.
No, when you take so many penalties and ultimately lose the game on a selfish, stupid penalty you are deciding your’e fate.

Musty can’t be a puck transporter, he is a shooter and passer.

Brassard was excellent tonight but needed to have better awareness late in first period when he airmailed a stretch pass up to Goyette with 10 seconds left. Goyette can’t bat it down or handle it and tie game.

We were excellent on PK but it tired us out and caused the loss of Robinson.
Not enough of Villineuve, Delic or McCallum on PP. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can we see some more down low play on PP. it seems EVERY shot on net from PP is from the middle of the blue line.

Our 5 on 5 play was better than the Pete’s so this should be our focus.

Too many passes and too many penalties. The miscue was unfortunate, but shit happens.

This game was so disheartening because the Pete’s played their standard individual style game. Massive missed opportunity!

Let’s hope Robinson is ok and we get things figured out.

Aha…..finally someone else pipes up about D Mack’s difficulty keeping the team, and himself disciplined.

That sums it up! Very hard to take. Man don’t tell me D Rob is going to be out too. Just can’t have two of our top of four out. Now that would be a real bullshit way to lose.

Everyone saying Brassard was good must've been watching a different game than I was. He made some nice saves but fact is the Pete's failed to capitalize on the incredible amount of times he was out of position. He got lucky bounces and law of averages say that his stats from this performance are unsustainable. Our only chance to win is with a confident Krawchuk in net for us. IMO of course.

Absolutely braindead giveaway by Goyette, 0 effort to recover.
I looked at the play a couple times and the pass to him wasn't the greatest. He was our best offensive player yesterday Not sure why Larmand was on that line ?? We took a lot of stupid penalties. I noticed coglan never played after is stupid penalty. Hopefully we get win tonight.

He stopped 34 of 36 shots on the road in a playoff game. Made some big and timely saves. What more can you ask for? I've been critical of Brassard many times before with the weak softy goals he's allowed, but last night was not the case. Let's see if he can follow it up again tonight with another strong showing. If he falters, you switch to Krawchuk quickly.

I sit in section 5,as my name suggests, which sees the Petes offense twice. Yes the Petes should have capitalized on several other chances last night but I don't think Brassard played bad either. Road game in a very loud, soldout arena which felt like showtime and he did well. 34 saves and never looked too fazed with all the stuff going on in the arena

Should DMac then not coaches after his bench minor? Emotions over ran intelligence.

To win playoff hockey one must be willing to block shots, get cross checked, punched in the mouth and get chirped without responding back. Smile and take it to them on the ice! That’s how Championship teams play. No more bullshit after the whistles. Commit to winning as a team and check your ego at the dressing room door.

I loved the first period, we were finishing every check and the Pete’s couldn’t respond. We need this for 3 periods along with courage and every ounce of energy to win tonight’s game.

"No bottom 4 team can even see game 6 against teh Petes in round 1. And then after that I'd love Ott in round 2. Our big Dmen would dominate Pinelli/Rohrer/Beck. Boucher isnt carrying you"

All the pressure is on the Petes. I guess you gotta have that kind of cockiness when you trade away guys like Lardis and Van Volsen. Let's see how the underdog Wolves hold up against a stacked Petes lineup. Nothing like a good underdog story.. GO WOLVES GO!
So... no you're not confident in your team enough to make a wager? Didn't think so :)

Stop scoring on your own net!

Same can be said for Simpson. How many times did we miss by hitting the post or misfired on an empty net or missed on a 2 on 1 by shooting the puck into his blocker rather than upstairs where it was wide open. Silly comment. Not a way to describe his game. The guy can’t do anything right it appears.

Series starts tonight, yesterday does not matter, team can steal home ice with a win tonight.

On paper Petes should sweep the Wolves. I'm confident enough in the Wolves that this series will go 6 or 7 games, I won't be cocky about it though. Wolves need to get Collins back in the line-up for when the series heads to Sudbury next Tuesday. I'm also confident enough in saying the Petes are absolutely toast against Ottawa if they make it to round 2. Petes don't stand a chance against any of Barrie, North Bay or Ottawa. And to think the Petes gave up Lardis and Van Volsen :)

How and when did we acquire him?
Twohey & Pope were both brought up from Stouffville Spirit of the OJHL. The Wolves have an affiliation agreement with this team similar to how they currently have one with Espanola Paper Kings and formerly the Sudbury Cubs last season. I don't know the details of the agreement but I believe they're both considered "affiliate players."

Agree completely.
I literally cringe every time the puck comes over our blueline.
Posters, myself included, complained about Joe flopping all over and constantly being out of position.
Kevyn is easily twice as bad.
Look no further than the Petes shorthanded goal last night.

Your series vs the Petes will play out like this:
Game #1 - Wolves get in a boatload of penalty trouble and lose 6-2
Game #2 - Wolves overcome the penalty issues from game 1 and sneak away with the split. 5-3
Games 3 & 4 - results never in doubt. Wins of 6-5 OT and 4-2
Game 5 - penalties dictate the outcome again, 5-2 Petes
Game 6 - Wolves cruise to the series win by scoring the tying goal with 5 seconds left and Coghlan scores with winner in double OT 5-4

Good luck!!!
Close on game one. 4-2 vs 6-2. Meh

Two goal win ahead tonight.

Go Wolves.

I prefer Villeneuve on the second line adds more scoring and I think he would be more productive their.
