How about Musty’s goal today! Two beauty shots. The last one brought a tear to my eye, a wrist shot on the ice. Imagine, on the ice. This old guy had Lafleur flashbacks…

First off, very excited for this series. Second, the name combination on that top d pair is elite anania-mania lol

I was surprised Robinson wasn't suspended, I didn't feel what he did warranted one, in the gave vs Hamilton.

is DeGrazia a potential return for the playoffs? I believe has a broken hand but it has been awhile since he has been out.

From what Papineau told me when it happened I'd be surprised barring a considerably longer than expected run. He was at home Friday for the OA ceremony.

Let's go Boys.

Very excited to see this series, as I believe we can pull this off in 7. Super pumped to see our powerplay working for us yesterday. It just makes it so much easier to win games and keep teams honest when the pp is working. Our special teams have to be on point if we're going to be successful this series.

I'm also interested to see the Stillman vs his old teammates matchup.

We most definitely have the coaching advantage in this series. If the boys stick to the game plan and keep shots between 20-under 30, we gotta chance. Also, very confident in saying the boys will not be out worked. We will see who stays disciplined and has the will to win…

Having Toure and Larmand back will def help. I like Larmands game when he plays smart. physical, good skater, and decent on the PK and capable to score.

Special teams will be the difference in this series.

Congratulations to the Sudbury Wolves for grinding out the last few weeks to secure 5th in the conference considering all the adversity with injuries and suspensions. My vision for this team coming into the season was a 4th place finish considering the amazing talent they had coming into the season. My desire early was for the Wolves to improve the overagers, sign the imports and none of those were done. Losing Derbidge for nothing and then the team getting into injury trouble early on and having a hard time closing out games resulted in Dunc being fired. A vital part of the season was to bring in DMac as head coach. It immediately brought a different play to the team. Structure, and accountability. Wolves didn’t make major moves but they did get some draft capital by dealing Holmes and Assadourian. But sometimes the smallest moves are your biggest ones. Yearwood and Coughlan were critical to the new coach’s style and finding a line combination to grind out wins. And that they did the second half despite all the penalties majors and injuries. I really think with a full line up this team can compete. The test begins Thursday! Proud of them.

Well said. Very proud of the boys and the team for all their hard work and efforts. Bringing in DMac as head coach was a huge coup. Upcoming playoffs will be exciting to see, and the playoff experience for this core will be vital. Wolves are well positioned to become serious contenders next season with continued internal growth with guys elevating their games to new levels, along with Papineau making some key new additions to bolster the line-up with more skill and veterans.

Win-Loss-OTL-SOL:
Duncanson 3-7-1
Ken MacKenzie 3-1-1
Derek MacKenzie 25-20-4-3

GO WOLVES GO!

Like I said a month ago, Divencentiis and Nelson to Sudbury next deadline:naughty:

Well, for what Musty lacks defensively, he sure has a lot of offensive upside. Could be really dangerous once he learns to play a two way game. That goal could do it. Not sure Peterborough is too excited
I feel differently on Musty's Defensive game than apparently most here. I find he's relatively quick to get back and break plays up in the Neutral zone and D-zone. He has one of the higher +/- ratings amongst forwards on the team. It's actually in the offensive zone that he tries too hard to make highlight reel passes instead of keeping it simple. He has one of the more creative minds on the team and while it helps him on occasion it also hurts him. But like I said these giveaways IMO usually stem from the offensive zone. Last season I thought the weakest part of his game was getting back to defend the highman but I find this season he is way better than most of our forwards. I would venture so far as to say the only Winger or Center on the team better at getting back to help defend is McCallum.

I think some are mistaking offensive giveaways for bad defensive play...Again just IMO

Having a creative player simplify his game is easier than getting a purely offensive player to help defensively. At this point in Musty's development however I would expect DMac is willing to take the little bit of Bad with the tremendous amount of Good.

I could not agree more, despite what many Wolves fans will lead you to believe. Musty brings a lot more good then bad. His vision alone creates more plays out of nothing than any other team on the roster. Yes, he does give the puck away at times, but so does Goyette, but no one talks about that one.

Wolves need to play to their strengths and on the top line that is offensive creativity with some higher-risk play.

Yes good points. It's more turnovers at this point. I have noticed he back checks way more than he used to.

Couldn’t agree more, massive improvements defensively this year over last year. He just needs to be less selfish and shoot the puck more, what more confirmation does he need than yesterday’s game. What’s that players name in Oshawa that Musty is always compared to? HaHa Haven’t heard much about him of late.

Who's comparing them..? One is a 200 foot 2-way centre. One is a purely offensive winger lol. The comparable for Musty is Colby Barlow as they're very similar players, Barlow just does it a lot better.

Worry about beating the Petes and not a fake-narrative that only you is trying to push:laugh:
Agree with the Barlow comparison. My tongue in cheek comment wasn’t to offend Callum Ritchie, in fact I admire his game and appreciate that 200ft game. My comment was made jokingly as the so called NHL Draft rankings always had Ritchie so much higher than Musty. I always felt the gap wasn’t that great. I just felt Musty was being disrespected. I wish Ritchie all the best for the playoffs and draft.
