C’mon wolf, you know you’re going to have odd man rushes when it’s three on three in overtime. Anyway, I hope he keeps working on his game and improving. Yes, he did make several good saves.
Yes, odd man rushes are away more frequent in OT. But again it’s the small mistakes that were made on the face off that could have been avoided. We jumped to the offensive side of the puck without possession as stated by Wolfman Jack. They are kids and they were amazing coming back being down 4-1, but attention to detail is required. I remember this happening in OT earlier this year (might have been the same player) but this need to be teaching moments that you need to learn from to be Champions!!

Youngman, get tougher skin and take a deep breath. You seem to look at everything with rose coloured glasses. Sorry, but I do not. He played that last sequence poorly. Period.
I’m not disagreeing, but I just hope we also look at what lead up to the goal

When we play run and gun bad shit happens. We mostly lose or if we are lucky to outscore our mistakes we win a high scoring affair. In both scenarios we hang our goal out to dry.
When we play defend/transition and gun we win and give up much fewer shots.
We have the gunners, we need to keep developing the defenders (that included forwards).
We have made massive improvements but more work/focus is needed. It will come.

so you have nothing, just a feeling. I have read scouting reports they want him to develop with his own age group in North America.
I have also read scouting reports, watched him, and spoken with scouts for teams and independent sources.

Coughlan and Yearwood are beauties!!! It seems they contribute every game in some fashion. Physicality with offensive upside and oozing with character. Can you believe we got 17year old Coughlan for a fifth and 18 year old Yearwood for a 10th?

I've said before I can't believe Coughlin wasn't playing in Guelph. Story there somewhere.
I wasn’t sure about Yearwood when he got here, but the last few weeks I’ve really enjoyed what he has brought to the team. As for Coughlin that might turn out to be one of Paps best trades, I’ve liked everything about him since we added him!

Still lots of roster construction to be done by all teams, but on paper Sudbury is my favourite for the Central next year as of right now. I think their main competition is Barrie. North Bay will lose lots of players after going on two deep runs and will likely sell their veterans next year similar to Hamilton this year. Mississauga I think is one year away from being a contender. Niagara is Niagara. Ottawa looks to be strong again & lead the East division.

Sudbury
Barrie

North Bay
Mississauga

Niagara
North Bay will not be making another run next season. With the few valuable assets they have coming back next year they will need to sell off to replenish the draft cupboard. They emptied it out this year and must be sellers next year. I can see them holding on until December and then the deals will start. Try to get some points prior so they can still maintain a playoff spot which will appease the fan base. But they will be near the bottom by seasons end next year. They have no picks left as of today.

I think in a relatively weak Central next year, North Bay could still finish similar to how Hamilton finished this year ~5-6th even after selling off.

Sorry NorthernBridge7. I did not intend to reply to your post.

The Battalion get back a 3rd pick this draft, 4th in the next because Fantilli has not reported. If he does not show next season, they get back 2nds in ‘24 & ‘25.
If the Battalion just move OAs Christopolous & Hislop, they will be over a full compliment of picks.
The Battalion could very well return the league’s best D corps and goalie/goalie depth and three OA forwards. They do not (have) to re-tool next season.

Naw they will be sellers. It would do no justice to the organization to try and win next year and not recoup pics. They will rebuild next year along with Erie, the Petes, Windsor, and Sarnia.

Selling off probably the the best draft class in franchise history would do no justice to the organization just now getting >3000 attending games for the first time since it’s initial ticket drive requiring commitment for 3-yrs.
And for what; the Battalion look destined for the bottom of the central 2024-25 no matter what they do. The is no benefit to getting a head start to being irrelevant. That would be especially detrimental to ticket sales.
The Battalion could return a D corps and goalie rotation among the very best (even after teams add at the deadline) and very formidable centre depth with Arnsby, Wakely, and Zito. That looks more contender than seller to me.
And the Battalion need to recoup picks is heavily exaggerated imo. A reasonable return for extra OAs (Christopolous) or Tarasevich and (Hislop) would have the Battalion with pick surplus.
If things are going well the only ‘04 born I can see being traded is DiVincentis, and that is only if Robertson & McIvor prove very capable.

I hope the Wolves have a nice tribute to Degrazia this Friday at the last homegame. It is a shame that such a talented player had his Ohl career end
In such a manner(second overager following Manikis to suffer the same fate by a dirty play vs the Battalion,).I hope the scouts took note of his wide array of skills and he gets offered a pro contract. He was also given acclaim in Brock Ottens prediction for the season ending poll, as the best skater in the East.He deserves to be saluted by Wolves fans for the great effort and ability he showed during his Wolves career

Well folks, here we are the final weekend of the 22-23 season. Any predictions for the remaining 3 games? You will we match up against? Who will be our starting goalie? How will our PP work out? How many playoff games we will win? Who will shine? How many high fives Dario will give per game?
Let’s have some fun with this.
Haven’t had playoffs since 2019…
Predictions?

One of Brassard or Krawchuk (not sure which one) get hot in the playoffs and steal us a game on the road. Wolves push it to a game 7.

Too bold?

I predict we will get the Colts. Series going 6 games. I say McCallum, Villineuve, Musty and Anania are the standouts along with Chucky!! Chucky needs to be our starter so he can gain the experience for next season. If we can go 1-5 on PP with no shorties that would be a win. We give up under 30 shots a game we should win. On the road, under 100 high fives from Dario and at home games over 1000 high fives from Dario per game. Of course my fanatic influenced brain has Wolves in 6 games.
