I really think a lot of you guys are out of touch on Byfield, judging him on 3 games in this Tournament. I thought he played a strong game today, didn't show on score board but played well.

I think I have seen enough of him with the Wolves to make a fair judgement on his game. I think he will be NHL next year, if he isn't bonus for the Wolves, but I can't see it happened.

Some of you guys need to do your homework. Who was the first pick overall last year in NHL Draft? How many points did he get in WJC 2019? Is he playing for NHL team this season?

If you go based on the last few drafts the top 3 picks in NHL Draft have stuck with team. There are some pretty weak teams in NHL Standings like Detroit, NJ etc. Byfield will continue to get stronger and fill out. He is stronger this season compared to last year, and it shows in his stats. I really feel he is getting the gears from his hometown fans on this board.
Agree with you 100%, Q is a beast, an MVP for the wolves and Ohl, his performance in this tournament will have little impact on his draft, second for sure, nhl scouts aren't idiots, there r quite a few top scorers in world juniors over the years who didn't make it to nhl, he was bigger and faster this past sept and he will be bigger and faster next sept, we are very lost without him, games are not the same... as for trade or keep him, I've stated before, all in with multiple big moves or trade him.

thanks BigTimefan, it's going to be an interesting trade deadline.

Alright so most say load up... lets hear some targets or see some mock trades!!!

I want:
Jenik (if he's ok)
Noel (if Jeniks not or price is cheap)
Kyen Sopa (another possibly good addition)
Zack Trott (depth addition)
Leguerrier
Tucker
Ingham (if possible)
Kooy (backup to Ingham but would rather just pay up)

Paps has yet to prove anything. He has yet to build a winner. This organization has yet to learn how to build a winning program, when to buy and sell. No more excuses. Doing nothing this deadline would be the biggest fail ever. Paps has put himself and this team in this position heading towards this deadline. His two options are sell by trading Byfield (will never happen) or buy and upgrade this team in all facets (talent level, grit ect.) . If Paps does nothing, he better pray Byfield returns next season and he better make sure this team is better next season (won't happen).

Rooting for you Paps! Pressure is on. Ottawa is a major road block for the Wolves again this season even with the Wolves buying. Go Wolves Go!
Great post. My sentiments exactly.

Tucker will never happen. Can’t afford Ingham if you want any other players

Our number 1 item needed is a goalie with 1A being a top two defenseman. A gritty winger would be nice as well.

Now that Jenik is out, we should be looking at a Tucker/Pekar package. I know that Barrie is in our division but we have traded with them before and they would fill a few of our needs nicely.

A trade with Barrie will never happen. The right deal is to trade Byfield and recover with picks and players. Start a process that should've started last year by moving the goalie. This team is rebuilding, unfortunately last year was when the process needed to be started so a legit run with Byfield in the line up would be realistic. There are not enough assets to get what is needed badly. (1) The Wolves need a legit #1 goalie FIRST. (2) The Wolves need 2 SOLID defenceman (1 at least). (3) The Wolves need 2 or 3 third and fourth line players that are focussed on DEFENCE.

The Wolves can score, this is not the issue. Adding a player to play with Byfield does nothing to solve the issues.

A bunch of 2nd round draft picks doesn’t solve anything either! It will cripple the fan base and lose all prestige of developing Byfield to the next level.

one can hope, Ohotynuk would be my first choice if ‘67s feel better off with an import forward

He be great, he is skilled and physical, but I can't see Ottawa parting with him. He recently came back from injury, going even make Ottawa stronger.

The Wolves would screw up the Lord’s Prayer if they could. Trading Byfield would be just that.

Wolves are an extremely frustrating team to watch right now. Way too many passengers, leadership is lacking. They are capable of playing so much better.
