Lol wtf is this thread? No Subban isn't going anywhere. If you can turn your aging #1D into a younger #1D to go with your already #1D that deal is a no brainer. As for the voiding of his NMC, why the hell wouldn't they? They have no obligation to uphold something that could hinder their future ability to move him if the right deal comes along years from now.

Nashville's power play is going to be absolutely disgusting. Their team in general is pretty sick aside from future goaltending (Saros maybe?) and a future 2C (Fiala? Does he play centre still?). If they can plug those holes they could be contending for the next decade easily.

Definitely Saros, one of the best goalie prospects in the league and our best prospect, Fiala plays wing but we have Kamanev who plays center.

Uhhh for one, Subban is significantly better than Josi, or basically any defenceman in the league besides Erik Karlsson, and second, Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis are also better than Roman Josi, and having many good players is a good thing.

No, Ekholm and Ellis are not better than Josi, that isn't an opinion it's just fact.

Bottom 5 valued teams in the NHL are Arizona, Florida, Carolina, Columbus and Nashville.
None of the above are going to spend 13M on 2 defencemen.

Would something like

Krejci + McQuaid/Miller + Bruins 1st 2017 + Debrusk/Heinen
for Subban

Bruins get there top 1a RD. Nashville gets a 1a/1b center depending on wherever they want RyJo

That or

Krejci + Chara (contract drops to 4mil next year)

for Subban + Craig Smith

Except for Nashville, who already do that and have for several years. Value means jack ****, we just acquired a no.1 center, two top wingers, and a younger no.1 center within the span of a little over a year. We want to win the cup. You don't know what you're talking about.

Nashville is a budget team, thats why Weber was targeted with such an offer. Everyone who isn't a Nashville homers knows this. Everyone who isnt a Nashville homer also knew the team would want to get rid of that contract eventually. They found a sucker in Mtl. Poile will look for another sucker for Subban

Nashville WAS a budget team 5+ years ago. They are not anymore.

This doesn't prove anything. Nashville is in this group for one reason and one reason only. David Poile doesn't hand out fat contracts (other than 2013) just for the sake of saying they signed someone. You generally have to be worth the money to be signed to one of these deals. David Poile is for the most part responsible with the deals he hands out. Think about it kind of like how prior to the recent recession, banks handed out loans without much thought leading to so many homes being foreclosed on, now after the recession they are alot more responsible about who they award them to.

With Subban, Josi, Ellis and Ekholm, the Predators have become the second coming of the New Jersey Devils of the late 90s, early 2000s. They're going to win a cup with that core. Why would they change that?

puzzling trade.
Nashville already have their #1 in Roman Josi.
Why would they pay 9M for a 2nd #1 defenceman?
Nashville quickly voided Subban's no movement clause before the ink was dry on the trade.
I think Subban is headed somewhere else.
Thoughtful comments?

Is Josi that good he plays both LD AND RD?

Josi is horrible defensivly. He is not a #1 twoway defensemen, Subban is. Josi is great offensivly but the most overrated defensemen in the game imo. Pretty useless defensivly...

[MOD] As stated in this thread they traded him after the big money on Webers deal has been paid and they got a younger talented player who has big $$ left on his contract. The player they received was brought in to try to win a cup. They didn't move their captain for a guy to just turn around and deal said player elsewhere. Maybe you should stop and wonder why your on the island all by yourself and not even one other poster sees or is taking your side. Cause your side Is so far off base there is not even an argument that makes any sense at all. P.S. You don't need a "sucker" as you put it to trade great players like Weber or PK. What's next Chi trading Kane and JT or the Kings trading Kopitar cause they make big money :shakehead:shakehead. Those teams better find a sucker to take those players cause they are making big $$$.

Wow neither is even in the neighborhood for a deal for PK and you can't really think Nash would have any interst in moving him unless your brothers with the OP.

the part in bold confirms that your opinion on the best Ds in the league shouldn't be taken seriously

thank you for this, you are now added to my list of hfboards' members that cannot compute when it comes to Western Conference players

Eh we got a guy trying to tell us Subban is a #2D
If he means 2nd best in the world he'd be still wrong but closer then calling him a 2D.

We got lots of people who can't do player evaluations on hfboards.

They didn't "void" it. They never gave it to him. He never negotiated it with them. They just didn't gift it to him for no reason, whatsoever.

There's NMC in Subban's contract that would've kicked in the next day, but then a team trades his contract just before to another team without any kind of participation on his part and suddenly there is no NMC in his contract anymore? Is there something in the CBA that says it goes like this, because in the real world a party can't usually pass onwards a better right than they themselves have, ie. NMC-cramped contract in this case.

Josi = LD
Subban = RD

Also, Subban is more of a #2D with elite offensive instincts.
NSH voided the NMC because they had that option.. Gives them flexibility down the loooong road.

Subban is a top 4 d-man in the entire world. There is no possible way you can argue he's anything less than a superstar #1D.

Agree.
Mtl didn't want to deal him to Toronto.
Nsh will do the dirty work.

To Nsh:
JvR (1LW)
Gardiner (2/3 D)
1st(2017)

:sarcasm:

Future:
Rielly-Subban
Dermott-Zeitsev
Neilsen-Greenway

No I don't think so
