I think if people ignore the zegras or stutzle AINEC type comments, there is good discussions to be had.

I think there for sure should have been an even option tho…. As it stands now they are basically 50 50 for the majority of the poll
I see both guys (like you point out) as very close when they are attacking with the puck. Any real separation, in how much they effect the game, will be determined by which one grows more in playing without the puck.

I could be wrong but I'm sure these AINEC takes (or other hyperbole) creates something that influences other people in their responses.

And yeah, it's absolutely too close to call at the moment but the OP said "who would you rather build around and why?" so it's about the future as well

This is what you said :

"Zegras is for sure a better skater than Stuetzle. And it wasnt an insult saying Id prefer him 10 years ago, but in terms of projecting these guys totals' later on I need to assume the guy whos game is more tailor-made for open ice is the one whos going to do better, whether by a lot or by a little idk.

But yeah
I feel confident saying Trevor Zegras is a better skater than Tim Stuetzle"

So yes it seemed clear. Some people love to make statements left and right without really knowing but you can't deny things you have already wrote as we have access to it. You gotta stand by your statements or admit that you were wrong/didn't know

Also, Tim's name is not Stuetzle. It is Stützle (or Stutzle if you don't know how/are cutting short on the umlaut)
Oof, yeah I didnt realize thats how I worded that first sentence. Thats totally on me then, it definitely makes me look bad. Ill take the L for that. The second phrase I stand by as I feel confident about it, but as time goes it could easily be disproven if im wrong. Some more muscle in these kids games will start to show their true colors

And I thought typing out the name without the diacritic U in english would be ue, to Stuetzle. Correct me if Im wrong though

It's very close, but Stutzle's all around game and physical impact will make him the more adaptable and successful of the two, imo.

Zegras plays a remarkable finesse game couple with stellar offensive IQ. Stutzle was among, if not the best, two way forwards on the team last year. He will be very different from just an offensive dynamo people have come to associate him as.

It'll be like WJC. Zegras with offensive dazzling(might even be best in league with McDavid and Drai) but Stutzle with overall dominance and looking like the more impactful of the two.

Though it could go either way if Zegras develops that side of his game too. Stutzle looks safer, but it could go either way and they both should be among two of the best in the league for a long while.

I'm sorry, but as a German native speaker, I must point out that this is incorrect. It is common in German to replace ü with ue (and ö with oe, ä with ae) if the umlaut is unavailable. So, in German, the name is Stützle, but Stuetzle is entirely correct and fully acceptable as well. Stutzle is technically incorrect, but since it has been the practice in the NHL since time immemorial to just replace ä, ö, ü with a , o , u respectively, IMO it is acceptable as well.

Agree, his jersey has Stützle.

Refreshing to see someone not double it or tripling it down. It's all good and don't worry it doesn't "make you look bad" at all. You were wrong on a hockey opinion, who cares? The problem is that there's some people who still argue even when it was demonstrated that 2+2=4. It's like they don't believe in science/rationality anymore... The question is if they don't believe in that or God, what do they believe in? lol. Social networks? :help:

That said, it's fine if you think that one is better at something than the other, even if the majority say otherwise, it's a qualitative opinion. Some people try to pass it as FACT though, which is the problem. Good on you to retract on it.

And no, you're right about the "ue" but this is why we don't write it like that anymore :

You're right, I should have said it was decided to write it this way for North America. We (Sens fans) all used to write it Stuetzle until stated otherwise, then we adapted. This is what we saw at first :

Probably my 2 favorite young players. Hard to say who I would take between them.

Was really disappointed with the Wings falling to 4th missing the opportunity to role with a German core of Seider and Stutzle.

I had Stutzle ranked 2 in his draft and Zegras #3 in his

Ill be sure to check in again this year to both Anaheim and Ottawa for my usual 8-10ish games I catch of every non-local team (which as a NJ resident is actually four teams lol). Zegras is a must watch player and Stützle is one of the style of player I love watching most. Though admittedly I am watching those games with less of my full attention than a Devils game, or even Isles Rangers and Flyers games.

And perhaps it is my 'bias' of having seen Zegras play about 4-5 times before he was drafted, to catch some USNDTP replays after the Devils won 1st overall

But for now Ill just leave it off with.. neither is as good a skater as Jack Hughes ;)

only just playing lol.

Its too bad this type of poster exists around here.

Flip a coin both are great. Could go either way.
Right? It's a shame other people have opinions.
Have a good day

Habs fans on fire recently.
I can't like zegras more ???? Oh you saw my avatar so its automatically blind homerism. Stuz is a great player but if hypothetically the habs could have a pick of either one im taking zegras everytime.
No need to feel so butthurt

You're entitled to your opinion, just like everyone else is entitled to point out saying "ainec" is a bad one.

"Everyone" ?? You mean 2 sens fans, it was more like "Habs fans on fire today" "to bad these posters exist"
That's different than simply saying bad take.
No worries tho, in a few years stutzle will be a good winger and zegras an elite center, il still stick with zegras

Stützle will probably never play wing again in his NHL career. He moved to center halfway through this past season, and he never moved back, as he was a significantly better player immediately after making the switch.

It's perfectly natural to have different opinions but saying AINEC (unless you're using a sarcasm emoji for joke purposes?) in a poll like that is just not a valid opinion. It's agitation to provoke reaction (aka trolling)

in a few years stutzle will be a good winger

Kinda reveals how much you followed the player...

There's having an opinion. And there's being wrong.

Being wrong is totally fine, being stupid willfully is stupid.
