man I just hope Fox can get healthy, we'll need him. Close it out in 4 to give him some extra rest. And get him some Soviet Union Olympic team steroids to inject into his knee.

Is it ok to look ahead to our next opponent? Even Brind'Amour realizes he is outmatched. He replaced his best player in this series. Without Freddy Andersen, there's no way game 2 would have went to double OT. He kept them in both games in NY, losing one goal heartbreakers. On all accounts Rod Brind'Amour has blinked.

It's one thing to sit Kuznetsov, but not your star goalie. What kind of message are you sending your team? His excuse of giving him some rest is bull. You didn't see Quick in net after double OT,.. did you? And he is a much better backup than what the Canes have. Rod blinked and this series is over.

No amount of Russian supplements/gas are going to get him back to normal if all they get is 7-10 days of rest.

It's good that Fox on 1 leg is still better than almost any other defenseman in the league.

Yeah. They got loud and mouthy in our section after that goal. Made celebrating that win more enjoyable.
My brother and i were friendly with all the canes fans around us all night, high fived them on the canes goals (we were guests of canes fans with a 9 year old) and kept the vibes chill in out section. Saw a fight in the parking lot. Idiots.

IMO, there is no doubt who our playoff MVP is. After Shesty, it has to go to Trocheck. Hands down he is our best skater night after night this post season. Faceoffs, powerplays, penalty kills, clutch goals,... He's involved in all situations, making plays. Where would we be without him? He has points in every game this post-season. He comes to play every night, chewing up the most minutes of any forward. In the double OT win, he played more minutes than any skater on both teams, including the D-men. When and if we reach and win the finals, the Conn Smythe should have his name etched on it, waiting for him. But then Shesty, will have to lose a game or two. LOL!

How was chytil?
I'm probably biased, but I thought it was an impressive game. He very obviously looked out of place in the first period, and in some ways playing wing was screwing with his defensive zone instincts; I noticed him kind of floating around in between where he should be as a wing and where he would be if he were playing center a few too many times. That said, he definitely settled in as the game progressed. Everyone will tell you about the highlight reel play where he dangled the defense and came close to potting one, but I thought he was noticeable offensively a handful of other times too, including a nice feed to set up Wennberg in the slot and a couple heavy forechecks that were disruptive to Carolina.

One win away from being the third team in history, to sweep the first two series of the Stanley Cup playoffs. (EDM '83, PIT '92)
Incorrect on PIT.

Pittsburgh was down 3-1 to the Caps in the first round in '92 and won in 7 games, then beat the Rangers in 6 games in round 2 (the Graves suspension for slash on Lemieux series.) They did sweep the ECF and SCF though.

Apparently no team has started 8-0 since the playoffs went to best of 7's in all 4 rounds.

Lets make f'n history Saturday night, boys. Foxy needs the rest.
