I told my bf this game was over halfway through the second.

It was one of those scripted road games where the home team comes out flying but doesnt capitalize and then the road team scores and gets all the mo. And god knows the Canes can shut down teams when they need to.

How many times have we seen other teams do that to the Canes?

Yeah, when we went to intermission tied at 0 I was thinking of the Kings fans in the building who probably had a "here we go again" type feeling. Something about the game of hockey seems to replicate that pattern over and over.

The difference between 20 and 24 is pretty damned big. He may not have a super thick frame, but you can hang muscle off a skinny frame too. It'll be more of an emphasis for him here than it ever has been before.

In 2015, Necas was something like 5'8" tall and 140 lbs. At the start of the season before he was drafted, Necas was 6'0 tall, 167 lbs. At the draft combine, was officially 6'1", 178lbs. He's now up to 6'2", 189 lbs, which is still light for his height, but a far cry from where he was when he was 17 years old. There was a story in the N&O about a year ago where in 2015 or 2016, he contacted a guy in Czech Republic to train him and make him bigger and stronger. Necas made the 400 mile round trip to where he was and where that guy was 3 times a week to train with him to get bigger and stronger. The team eventually worked out a deal for that guy to work with Necas daily.

Necas won't ever be anywhere close to a Jagr type and I do agree he still has a ways to go in terms of strength, both on his skates and overall, but I do think that both with age (as Hank mentioned) and with is "reported" dedication to getting stronger, eating right, etc... that he'll get to a point where it isn't an issue.

So...
In year 1 he grew 4 inches and 27 pounds
In year 2 he grew 1 inch and 11 pounds
In year 3 he grew 1 inch and 11 pounds

At this pace, by the time he's 25 years old Necas will be 6'7" and 252 pounds.

Necas will be like Jagr and play till he's 50.

Mainly because he'll be over 8 feet tall and 400 pounds.

50?
Am I the only one worried about Anton's Key here??
