I really don't care what people are wearing as long as they're paying to get in and cheering for the Jackets.

This, with the exception of knock off jerseys. Hate 'em.

I've half seriously suggested to friends that when I go to the Fiesta Bowl next week I just might wear a CBJ jersey.... particularly if the streak is still alive.

Now the 4 seats we were sitting in cost $500., and parking was $20., and the chili cheese fries and beers was $75., my boys both had a couple more beers each for 40.,

There's no way they can pay you back. But the geezers plan is to show you that they understand.

Happy christmas to you and yours... unlike the fashion skier Aino-Kaisa Saarinen's twin sister Maija got Aikku's christmas card which was dedicated to Tom Gustafsson & family.

I agree, wear the colors. :sarcasm: The colors are RED WHITE AND BLUE

I suppose this wouldn't work then :shakehead

Come on people, there are more important issues than this. Why can't we enjoy butts in the seats rooting for the CBJ? Why do we have to start monitoring what people wear?

And while we are at it, perhaps the team should't shoot shirts into the crowd that are white?????

:help:

I may be misreading the thread, but I don't really see OP as being that upset about it and I don't really see any strong reactions in the replies. Not sure the level of outrage is being measured quite right, really.

Seems to me most people agree that what matters is having people in seats....

...as long as those people aren't wearing Chinese fake jerseys :naughty:

There are no important issues on a fan message board.

Come on people, wear the colors.

I own a CBJ original logo ball cap that I bought off eBay, and that's it. I'll never own a jersey (I blocked that thread from my hf). Not a fan of "white outs" or any of that crap. Give it a rest.

I did see someone wearing an OSU football jersey at either the Pitt or Mont game the other day and I just kind of shook my head to myself, but if they are new and excited about the team and just don't have the money for gear or not ready to commit to gear, I'm ok with it. I get more annoyed when someone attempts an O-H in the concourse after the game, as they did on Thursday, nobody responded...I graduated from OSU, absolutely love the football team, but I separate my loves. CBJ will always come first and until OSU stops the disrespect for the CBJ, or really more just ignoring them. Example: National championship celebration moved to All-Star game weekend....or blocking any attempt at an outdoor game. How much razing would you get if you wore a CBJ jersey to a Buckeye football game? Quite a bit I bet, at least when we were bad.

People that wear jerseys from teams that aren't playing are stupid, I saw a woman wearing a Pens jersey at the Mont game...

Ironically, someone I have had some issues with in the past, Kirk Herbstreet is posting about the Jackets multiple times per game, nice to see him giving them some national attention, I may have to forgive him for what he did to Torg.

There's always that one guy. My neighbor is the type of guy that would "O-H" at a funeral.

They played 7 Nation Army at the Pittsburgh game, but no one continued it as most people were delirious from the hat trick and ass-kicking going on.

When I first moved up here from Dayton, the restaurant I worked at had some sales guys from the Jackets come in. They were selling these packages, 2 tickets almost anywhere in the building (minus club and suite) and 4 buy one get 1 free passes for like $30 bucks. This was the season after the first playoff I believe. I bought one and took my mom to the free game since she helped me move, got seats five rows from the glass in 111. Mom loved the cannon, had a great time, think we won in the end.

Anywho, I was a Pens fan for about 20 years (since I was 5). Never hated the Jackets, just had my team from before then. I didn't have any Jackets gear so I wore what hockey stuff I had after the move: a Jordan Staal home Pens jersey. We weren't playing the Pens that day. During the game, I cheered on the Jackets, booed the opposing team and cursed out the refs when they did ref'y things. Had a great time. Except the lady in front of me would keep giving me dirty looks throughout the game.

Finally in the third period, she turned around and said "I can't believe you're wearing that $*** in our house." I'm like, wha? My mom said "Hey, he just moved up here and he's getting into the team." I was gonna let it go, but the lady was gonna start up again when the guy behind me said "Hey lady, how about you shut the **** up, kid's been cheering us the whole time and ain't never done nothing to deserve this. Turn the **** around and shut up!"

My mom and I lost it, laughed so hard. Couple behind us said they were transplants from Chicago and except for a few games every year, they rocked CBJ the whole time. Ended up becoming a season ticket hold the next year and eventually became one of those people that hate when others wear opposing teams jerseys when they're CBJ STH or when we're not even playing that team, but in the end, their money spends as well as others and some days I'd rather have a full house than an empty one, cause I've sat in that place on some empty ass nights.

Swear to god I saw a picture somewhere that someone at a funeral actually incorporated the casket into the O-H. I double facepalmed and then some.

I'm one of the folks who doesn't believe any man that has reached puberty should wear a jersey who isn't playing (ha, I know many other feel differently - I have a couple CBJ sweaters and OSU jerseys but they are framed, and I do have one CBJ sweater with stinger emblem from season one in the closet) and I often come direct from work where I can't wear a t-shirt. So more times than not I'll just have on a CBJ hat. Heck I know one of the toboggans I have is OSU and I've worn it there before without really thinking.
Personally I like seeing other jerseys around (not the opposition obviously). Was neat early on seeing the old Dineen/Sanderson jerseys (as an example).

My wife wore her Stars Jersey back in the Belfour days when they'd come to town, the PSL holder next to me (from Boston) always wore his Bruins jersey when they came to town. Me, I grew up a Quebec/Colorado fan, so yeah we've taken some abuse at games over the years, but for the most part it's all good.

I'd rather sit next to the 2 King's fans I talked hockey with last Tuesday, than some obnoxious home town fans that can't comprehend icing, or offsides.

At some point I can't prescribe to the "well at least they are buying tickets" mentality. I know I'm getting old and less tolerable as well.

Also, in the case of larger fans (bigger than 2XL), CBJ stuff is hard to find (online only and even then the selection is sparse).

I wear a non-numbered jersey to the games. It's the only "uniform" you'll ever need. Goes over whatever you are wearing and the thing may last 15-20 years if you take care of it in the time that you would've gone through multiple shirts and other apparel. Rarely needs washed. If you don't have $110 - $130 to spring for one, there's Ebay.

I would agree.

My road blue, non numbered is 15 years old, and looks new. Its older than my 14 year old, and he wears it to games.

I own no OSU gear. My workplace regularly has a Buckeyes spirit wear day, and I simply wear a red shirt. As a transplant from Cleveland 27 years ago, I have never adopted nor embraced the OSU madness. One big reason I am a CBJ fan is my search for a PROFESSIONAL sports team to follow. I really think many Central Ohio sports fans simply have OSU gear as their "sports watching uniforms." Strikes me as weird, but to each their own.

I do object to the bozos who shout "O-H" in the arena district after a Jackets game. We usually yell back SHUT THE H**L UP and start a CBJ chant. Strikes me again as a lack of creativity and weird single-mindedness when it comes to Central Ohio sports. There are some, perhaps many, who don't give a darn about OSU.
