Stoll vs Richards

I'm sorry, but any 3rd line center with skilled wingers in the NHL who goes 30 consecutive games without one single assist is killing the overall team offense. That's right, Stoll has gone 30 consecutive games without an assist. I doubt you can find another 3rd line center in this league that comes even close to that horrid stat.

Time for Richards to come home. Yes, Stoll is a better defensive player, but when other lines struggle for a few games, the third line never chips in with Stoll as the center. Everyone needs to contribute. Everyone.

Yes, I get the intangibles that Stoll brings, I also get the bad penalties he has a penchant for taking. While he has never been an offensive dynamo because he is so one dimensional, it's just hard to fathom how far his offensive skills have deteriorated. I hope we can sign Williams, say thanks for the memories to Stoll, let Richards earn his way back into the 3rd line slot, and let Shore and Weal battle it out for the 4th line next year.

Sutter values defense from the bottom six more than offense, no way are they going to bring him back and increase his icetime, Sutter didn't trust him as a 4th line center, now you want him as a third liner?

The Kings answer to the third line center question will have to come this summer. And it should be from the outside.

Stoll is not even a good defensive Center anymore. He is simply average, not good, not bad.

Sutter can't play Stoll 15-18 miuntes anymore, it kills the Kings transition game. Take a look at tonight, the third line was nonexistent. Brown was even like "F...it".

There is a reason Williams production has nose dived over the last 16 games.

Stoll.

I am starting to think Trevor Lewis was hampered all these years playing with a garbage Center in Stoll/Fraser ETC. Lewis is having a career year away from the bottom six.

 Brown/Stoll/Williams was the only line tonight that got blanked...

So, your saying you prefer seeing Brown / Richards / Williams be blanked and each have a -2?

I wish Sutter didn't hate Richards, so unfair.

Why does everything have to do with Richards? Brown/Stoll/Williams is awful... but I guess that's Richards fault... They produced last year... nothing this year... I'm sorry but when your line is being out played by Clifford/Shore/Nolan at a combined cap hit of 2.7M... there is a problem. Brown/Stoll/Williams combined cap hit 12.775M... Think we've found where the teams problem is.

Brown/Williams have both played themselves off the first line, despite repeated attempts by Sutter to make it work.

For the record... I wouldn't even want to see Brown/Crosby/Williams... it would just be too sad.

Oh yeah... I'm sure Richards is just fine collecting his 7 million dollars (actual money, not cap hit) this year chilling out on the Monarchs.

Brown/Stoll/Williams were terrible vs an AHL lineup. Williams had four turnovers in the first period.

They own that.

Good on Sutter I guess to put all the black holes on offense (last 20 games) on one line. Let them figure it out, they are veterans after all.

Brown looked uninterested the whole night, like he pretty much said "F....It"

I still wish we got rid go Williams at the deadline. He would have been easy to dump.

Exactly how I feel. Though I think we should let go Williams as well.

30 games without an assist is just ridiculous.

From playoff MVP to being "easy to dump". Wow. What have you done for me lately I guess.

You just don't dump a valuable leader and veteran player if you feel your team has a shot at making the playoffs and doing some damage towards the ultimate goal of the cup. The Kings have obviously shown they can turn it on with the best of them. Sad that fans want to dump Mr. Game 7. Guess those fans have giving up on the season.
