Injury Report: Stolarz Stretchered Out Of SBA During Game 1

Sure. What else was he supposed to say?
He doesn't need to blame the Toronto media and fans for villainizing Bennett...if anything, Maurice is the villain because he allows and even encourages his players to play like that. He surely doesn't discourage it...Bennett concussed Knies two years ago, concussed Marchand last year, and now Stolarz this year. He wants to blame somebody? Blame himself, otherwise shut-up.

I don't like Maurice and am not defending him in anyway, I am however saying that he said what he was supposed to say. He vilified Toronto fans and media to put the league on notice so they don't favour the Leafs just because we are the centre of it all.

I am saying, he said the right things. It doesn't make them true or that we have to like what he said.

Except everyone knows that the bad US teams always are favoured. It makes sense too... look at what winning did for Tampa and how its finally put the Panthers on the map after years of empty stadiums

Playing the Toronto/media card is cheap. Could have just said it was a bang bang play, didn't really see it and Bennett was jockeying for space and he could have diffused it. Now we'll have to go big cat hunting.

I don't think the league and refs have favoured the Leafs in a long time...we have the guy at DOPS who takes every opportunity to suspend a Leaf player if he could, while turning a blind eye on infractions against Leaf players...and the refs have not favoured the Leafs...the Leafs has been consistently at the bottom half of the league for drawing penalties for many years...his player is a rat, and he didn't have to vilify the Toronto media and fans...he's playing up an old narrative that the Toronto media and fans are just toxic...obviously, he's a rat too.

We should probably move on about Maurice for now, lol

Me neither, IMO we get screwed on a regular basis because refs, DOPS and the league don't appear to be favouring in any way. Maurice is just trying to keep it that way.

Let's hope he has intermittent vertigo and it goes away today. Chronic vertigo must suck. Sorry you suffer from that, hope they manage it well or find a cure for you.
Its a lot like herpes, its not there all the time but flares up now and again.

None of the Canadian teams get favored, even the ones we hate.

It's teams like Florida, Boston and Chicago that the NHL favors.

That’s because they take hockey interest and passion in Canada for granted. They know we Canadians will always love, follow and watch our favorite hockey teams regardless of their performance and results on ice. Hockey has very deep roots and history in our country, it’s literally our national sport, the love of hockey is in our blood. The people who run the nhl also know that most sports fans in the US have fickle interest at best for their local nhl teams and will never love hockey as much as Canadians do. It’s not culturally, socially and historically ingrained down there. Of course there are many diehard American hockey fans in every U.S nhl market but they are a niche group compared to nfl, nba, and mlb fans in these same cities. That’s why the nhl executives want to grow the game down south by favoring US- based teams without making it too obvious.

I’d imagine his season is over. Even if he comes back he will have lost his groove.

To me this is the worse thing that can happen. We’re f***ed. Can’t win without your best player and best goalie in the league.

Stolarz currently has a .900 in 7 games, let's not pretend like he was stealing games...

He made the saves that mattered. But so did Woll last night. I have a peaceful, easy feeling with these guys. I just hope Stolarz will be available soon to shore up the situation.

Sounds like Stolarz is definitely out for this series regardless of the duration. Let’s hope he can return at some point in these playoffs if we make it to the next round.
