Injury Report: Stolarz Stretchered Out Of SBA During Game 1

Everybody did what they were supposed to do here:

Maurice said "no penality on the ice and the ref was right there" and that "the media and Toronto was always going to make Bennett a villain and now here we are".

Bennett said "I was just going to the net on PP, I didn't realize I even hit Stolarz, we are friends"

Berube said "elbow to the head" pressuring NHL and DOPS to react.

Players all said "I didn't see it, but we have to protect our goalies and players better" also pressuring NHL DOPS

NHL DOPS did not issue supplementary discipline for a play with no penalty that or may not have caused an injury. We don't know how hurt Stolarz was, we don't know what play it happened on, he might even be sick or dehydrated.

...it sucks because I think Stolarz got hurt on that play. The best we can hope for is for short leashes on Florida for this type of behavior the rest of this series
Prick reply by Maurice, and hiding behind the refs...obviously refs didn't make the call...they also made that awful call on Domi's crosscheck penalty...the media and Toronto did not turn Bennett into a villain...he turned himself into one...first injuring Knies a couple of years ago, now Stolarz...liars will speak lies as truths and expect people to believe their lies.

Cats come as advertised, they are a nasty team. Bennet is a little asshole, rubbed into Stolie on purpose, a couple f*** you's after the whistle. The refs and DOPs ain't going to help.

No penalties, no suspensions. So all is fair in love in war.
Where the proverbial shoe on the other foot, ie our players behaving like rats on the ice, would the zebras and/or the DoPS turn a blind eye?
Track record shows they would be swift to dish out so called disciplinary action against Toronto.

DOPS should be disbanded burnt and it's ashes thrown from a plane. It's BS. It's another vector for series rigging. We are the DOPES for supporting this joke league.

It's shocking there isn't anyone higher up in the Leafs organization with some authority calling this BS out...the Leafs are a cash cow to the league, and this is what the organization and fans have to tolerate.

The authorities will be heads up for both teams going forward after last game. Cats just got their digs in beforehand and made them count. It's their style and what they're good at.

There's no conspiracies, just gamesmanship.

It will be hard to understand for some if Domi goes nuts and gets suspended...

But anyway, we won the game, just have to find a way to use it all to our advantage and keep going. In the end this could be a boon for Toronto, a risk for Florida.

Berube said he hasn’t been ruled out for game 2. So maybe the throwing up wasn’t related to the neck injury. Was also at the facility and no mention of concussion protocol.. so probably good news. Surprised he was at the facility and not in a dark room
I think it was a neck injury and they were being extra cautious

Have you seen the any of the elbows messier threw during his career?

EDM was one of the greatest teams for an extended period, they changed and defined the game for that era. Messier was a key component. Gretzky isn't Gretzky without Messier. EDM scored at a prolific pace and set records. FLA is not in that league. Bennett is a third liner on that team, if that. To compare the two is laughable.

Aren’t they comparing the dirty plays and not the caliber of players? Because in that sense Messier was as dirty and dangerous as it gets. If it was him that elbowed Stolarz he wouldn’t be returning.

They fought already and Bennett absolutely destroyed him. Completely one sided beatdown. If it was Tie Domi though, Bennett would eat through a straw.

Max got off to a bad start in that fight and never recovered. Who knows he could get smoked again but I think Domi does better in the rematch. You don't win all of your fights and I've seen many guys lose yet come back the next time and destroy their opponent. For example Max's dad beat Bob Probert and then got pummeled in the next bout.

More importantly they need to be very clumsy, borderline criminally negligibly clumsy in Florida’s crease. After such an emotional game, who can blame them for being a little weak on their skates, knees and elbows a-flailing on a routine netfront scramble?

It would be a shame if 230 lbs Matthew Knies accidentally/ on purpose flew into Bobrovsky.

Was it just me? Or did Hildebeast look like he was ready to shit himself on the bench last night at the very idea of coming in, in the event that Woll got hurt?

Yeah, John Cooper said that for the last 3 years. TOR doesn't have to be stupid, just hit the hell out of Barkov and Tkachuk everytime Bennett and Eckblad start their shit. Better do it early. Watch FLA lost, they will double down. Watch tomorrow night the elbows, charges and boarding.

I’m wondering if the high profile nature of the Bennett coverage will throw them off a little bit. Probably not. But yeah I think playing the Leaf game to get ahead is the best approach.

Leafs should absolutely continue to pound their higher value and soft targets. Pacioretty rib shots on Barkov was chefs kiss. Knies bulldozing Jones. Repeat that. Any time Ekblad wants to roid rage in net front feel free to trust fall on Bobrovsky. I think Nate Schmitt is a softer competitor you could run. Tkachuk, constantly test his health. And don’t forget to get some licks in for Lundell. You beat him up a little and see if it downgrades their third line effectiveness. Everyone forgets about Lundell and his buddy Listerine.
