Injury Report: Stolarz Stretchered Out Of SBA During Game 1

I don't understand how the Panthers receive the benefit of any molecule of doubt given their history and the history of their players. Dirty, dirty, dirty.

In the lead up to Game 1, Kypreos and co. were talking about how the NHL may even like the fact that Florida toes the line, because it gets headlines and gets viewers. They're the NHL's bad boy. People want to see violence in hockey. What's more violent than watching a guy puke his guts up after getting hit in the head by a repeat offender?

The best way to rub this in Florida's face is to beat them and beat them convincingly. Do it for Stolie. Raly around Stolie. The boys need to put the piss and vinegar on the blade of their stick and light Bobrovsky up.

Save the actual retribution for next season, or if the series becomes stacked the other way.

Kadri or Bunting would have been suspended for the rest of the series if either did something like this while wearing a Leafs sweater. You can't convince me otherwise.

Moreover, even if you think it was incidental (it absolutely wasn't), the Leafs don't. Which means you now have a situation where a team and their fans believe that their starting goalie was deliberately injured and taken out of the series with no consequence. Not even a minor. Just as a pressure release alone, Bennett should have gotten at least a game.

This series now has the potential to get really out of hand, especially when Florida inevitably cheapshots another Leafs player. You know its going to happen... We've seen at least one blatant attempt to injure every second game this playoffs from them. What happens then, George? Oh right, Leafs suspension incoming.

This f***ing league, man...

Reeves lives by the code, I don't think a fight is good enough

I want someone who wants to attack
If this was intentional doing likewise just makes the Leafs as dirty and pathetic imo. I’m sure Bennett and Stoli are good friends off the ice after all they son a cup together……..

The cycle of violence Parros has set up is unbelievably dangerous and from a human perspective Maurice’s advocacy for violence is scummy.

The best case scenario for the league right now is Toronto just plays the game and focuses on winning the series. And wins the series.

If things go sideways for the Leafs this series what would be the motivation for Toronto to not go Brandon Hagel on a number of Panther players make it an a absolute bloodbath?

You guys want to make some noise start mailing the NHL. This should be a DOPS issue and suspension.

The NHL has offices in New York, Toronto, and Montreal. The main headquarters is in New York City at 1 Manhattan West, 395 Ninth Ave, New York, NY 10001 with phone number 212-789-2000 and fax 212-789-2020. There's also a Toronto office at 50 Bay St, Toronto, ON M5J 2X8 with phone number 416-359-7900 and fax 416-981-2779. A Montreal office is located at 1800 McGill College Ave, Montréal, QC H3A 3J6 with phone number 514-841-9220.

The head of the NHL's Department of Player Safety is George Parros, who is the Senior Vice President of Player Safety. The NHL's main office is located at 50 Bay St, Toronto, ON M5J 2X8, Canada. The Toronto office phone number is 416-359-7900

Have at it. It's legit complaint
This is one method, the best method is to contact NHL sponsors. I found a list from a couple of years ago, many of them still exist.

If fans really want to make a difference I assure you, you organize a fan base, reach out to their sponsors and executives, reach out to Turner Sports and TNT in the U.S.

Bring the heat based on the history of sports and concussions. Fans spend hours watching the games, posting on here, even on their breaks, at lunch or if they WFH, reaching out to sponsors takes just as much time.

You articulate one or two simple but strongly worded emails and send them out to multiple sources. When people take time to write (or call), it makes a huge difference. If corporations feel they are just advertising to reach a smaller market, such as those who watch UFC for instance rather than a larger, broad market for women, kids and families, it will force the NHL to change.

Right now, the NHL refuses to change, though I have seen some concerted efforts by the refs this playoffs to call more infractions.

Reasons like this is why you have a good coach like Berube. Get that room prepared to use it as motivation to win the series , not win an “eye for eye” battle like most of the people want in here.

Agreed. There will be time for revenge next season. Play them hard, beat them, and send another Tkatchuk home.

All good, but Rogers owns the Leafs and has an $11 billion deal with the NHL through to 2038. Which means their money, this market’s money, the Leafs money goes into sponsoring a poverty franchise like Florida.

If $11 billion doesn’t buy you an even playing field and disciplinary action when justified, I dunno man. Maybe Ed Rogers and Keith Pelley need to have a word. You don’t think Jeremy Jacobs would speak up for for the Bruins?

No it means the NHL is becoming liable because they have to maintain standards and good safe practices. By damaging the leagues reputation they are potentially damaging Rogers ROI.

So actually Rogers could likely pursue damages.

The NHL has a duty

Goalies should be protected period. At no point in time should it be allowed for goalie to take a forearm/elbow... or whatever the way Stolarz did, without some sort of discipline. Clearly the league does not take player safety seriously, which has been demonstrated time and again. Even worse, is the completely random way that penalties and suspensions are carried out. Domi gets a penalty for who knows what against, Marchand, but taking out a goalie gets nothing... make it make sense? You've got a team in Florida that is regularly injuring other team's players, and cheating with PED, yet they seem to have much lighter punishment than expected from other teams. If something happens next game, the league has nobody to blame but themselves... even from a game management perspective, a one game suspension would have taken the heat out of this a little bit.

No discipline for Bennett apparently. Honestly the guy needs to get blown up, hit hard and often. Reeves is useless, don’t dress him. The team on the ice needs to address this and do it with as much punishment as possible. A fight isn’t good enough. Play with the same grease and disrespect for their players.

This league is a joke, a disgusting joke. Hope this lights a fire under the ass of this team and they run over the Panthers, f***ing disgusting pukes.
