2 series in a row. First Bennett assaults the youngest player in the ice, knocking him out and now a blindside headshot on a goalie knocking him out and no protection from the league?

The one thing I would say is that if the Leafs do something crazy to send a receipt, just remember, it's 100% on DOPS now. Don't blame the player or the team, 100% on DOPS.

Don't let anyone else try to say otherwise.

100% on DOPS.

I just say clean for the PG crowd on here. I don’t care if it’s clean.
We are speaking the same language - he doesn't deserve the dignity of clean retribution.

Don't cross the line, but don't be afraid to give him the same sort of sly shit he gives to other people.

I mean, it is... but if it puts us in a situation of defending a five minute penalty and playing the game down a man, it's not great for us either. This is what pisses me off, even the retribution route hurts us and we need to suck it up and keep doing our thing.

Sad part is the league now along with refs are looking for the Leafs to get redemption. The slightest thing that we do will be scrutinized or punished. They have to be careful.

Ultimately this is the type of game Maurice likes to play. Instigate and hurt, get away with it. Let other teams retaliate and gain advantage. Leafs need to continue to play their game, and slowly make them pay. But dont get into a hole.

Lineup Bennett and Domi on the opening faceoff. And let them go at it. If Bennett doesnt want to go. Jump him get it over with, get crowd into the game. Send a message. Then get into the game again.

It’s an open invitation to fall on Bobrovsky’s ankle too.
A sentiment I share but we know better, Stephen. Today's MLSE immediately ships out character players who demonstrate they are capable of such guerilla tactics: Kadri, Bunting, Marchment.

Now we've nothing here but Domi... he might just snap if we're lucky. And no fair fight bs, do dirty s**t to Barkov or Bob.

While I'm not surprised, I'm still incredibly angry. Dude sent Stolarz to the hospital and the NHL be like "oh, it was incidental." All this guy does is concuss players. The league can get bent.
Yeah, I know we're pissed because that's our starting goalie and that it's a bush league play from a cheapshot artist.

But I also think a LOT of us are pissed because of the impact on Anthony Stolarz's well-being and the senselessness of the act (with zero repercussions or future deterrence). Head injuries are no joke and can have life-altering effects. The fact that the same team has dished this out to 3 people a span of 4 games with minimal punishment and zero accountability is pretty telling. Zero apologies, zero ownership of the incidents - in fact, the opposite. Just a 2 game suspension for one of the players, and it's supposed to be business as usual.

I agree with the other posters who said that this will keep happening until one day someone is seriously injured on the ice or possibly killed.

Bennett caving Domi's face in won't send much of a message.

Yup, it sucks for us but to those guys in the room, they gotta look in the mirror knowing that rat keeps getting protected by the league, They will try not to be stupid but If any of the games get to 5 goal lead levels either way, watch out.

...and again, its 100% on DOPS now no matter how bad our toxic media will try to bash us.

It´s the type of game the League allows Maurice to play.
No matter how much of a dirty scumbag you are, IF a professional League doesn´t set you straight when you cross the line, it´s ultimately not your fault. It´s the League.

And the Leafs won't be allowed to respond. So basically just have to sit there and take cheapshot with a smile because the league refuses to penalize this idiot.

Department of Panther Safety
Won't be allowed to and it really doesn't do us any good. Berube talks a lot about not letting people get under your skin/react... this is another of those things, unfortunately. The best way to get retribution is to hang three more Ws... and the best way to do that is to just continue playing like we did for most of last night.

I don't understand how the Panthers receive the benefit of any molecule of doubt given their history and the history of their players. Dirty, dirty, dirty.

In the lead up to Game 1, Kypreos and co. were talking about how the NHL may even like the fact that Florida toes the line, because it gets headlines and gets viewers. They're the NHL's bad boy. People want to see violence in hockey. What's more violent than watching a guy puke his guts up after getting hit in the head by a repeat offender?

The best way to rub this in Florida's face is to beat them and beat them convincingly. Do it for Stolie. Raly around Stolie. The boys need to put the piss and vinegar on the blade of their stick and light Bobrovsky up.

Save the actual retribution for next season, or if the series becomes stacked the other way.

Can you imagine Domi getting that cross checking penalty and nothing happening to Bennett for concussing the goalie. And people will still say the league loves the Leafs.

honestly like i said. the best revenge isn't going out and being stupid. is going to Sunrise up 2-0, take a split and finish it at home. let the defending champs stew in it a few rounds earlier than expected. chase Bob out of the net like he's Hellebuck on the road. injure them where it matters: on the scoreboard and being up in the series.
