Or that winning occurred the second he signed that OS on Blues letterhead. One way or another, he just signed a $9.2mm winning lottery ticket.

Really don’t see how Edmonton matches, sends a lot of wrong signals to the locker room. On a player that doesn’t want to be in that locker room.
If he ends up as a journeyman, that’s like 9 playing years worth of pay. Would be stupid for anyone to reject that.

Unsure why me being a Montréal fan has any bearing on your franchises position. Your rebuild/retool isn't in good shape, it's all I'm stating.
Because the same talking points have been repeated in multiple threads the past few months by different Montreal fans, just odd.

Thanks for the concern. Maybe you should worry about your own.

No he hasn’t. Podkolzin was a healthy scratch for most of the 2024 playoffs. Holloway played a consistent 12 minutes a game in the same playoffs.
How about their body of work in the NHL overall?

F Holloway. He chose bank over trying to win, and was a willing stooge. It'd be funny if Edmonton now threatens to match for Broberg unless St. Louis sweetens the pie by giving up a 1st for a mid prospect.

I dont blame them, they are young and who would turn down life altering money, one injury or a struggling start could mean ahl time and who knows where their career takes them.

That being said, edmonton has to let them walk. Cup favourites cannot pay bloated cap hits for potential, a bottom feeder like st loius can take the risk and its a shrewd move.
you can repeat as many times as you want, it still doesn’t make it true.

That quote from JT Miller is two years old. Podzolkin had a decent start 3 years ago but he’s been pretty bad the last two years.
Wish him all the best in Edmonton. He’s a good young guy who never complained and worked hard. He just wasn’t cracking Vancouver’s lineup this year and needed to clear waivers.

Yes, you guys really have the Blues FO over a barrel here.

St. Louis has the time to wait it out. The whole point of these OS was that it was pretty risk-free.
This is true. It's going to be an interesting day tomorrow.

Nothing about having them over the barrel, but more them not getting the actual target they wanted. Holloway's been replaced, so we'll take the 3rd thanks. How bad do they want Broberg? The contract was 1 dollar short of a 1st round pick. How bad does St. Louis need a top 4 young LHD? My understanding is they absolutely have a need for one.

No and yes.
Right now Holloway is the property of StL. The only way he becomes the property of Edm is if Edm matches the contract he signed with StL.
There may be the potential to re-sign then waive to SJ for a upgraded pick.
Could fall under cap circumvention or not.

If Edmonton matches the contract for either player, they can’t trade them for 1 calendar year. I’m sure they can’t place them on waivers for the same calendar year.
